Liverpool outcast on way to Arsenal? Emery ready to complete shock deal for Spaniard

Some shock reports have emerged which have claimed Arsenal are lining up a move for Liverpool outcast Alberto Moreno at the end of the season.

The Spanish superstar was once hailed as the next best thing since Jordi Alba to come out of Spain before he made the move to the Premier League and Liverpool and was seemingly destined to become one of the best left-backs in world football, but his move has not worked out and he has failed to impress enough during his four years at Anfield.

He has only made 134 appearances for Liverpool during that time and has now lost his place in the side to the impressive Andy Robertson, who is now considered one of the best in the Premier league and Jurgen Klopp’s number one.

And with the Spanish star in his final year of his contract and seemingly not keen to agree a new deal, the Reds are resigned to losing Moreno next summer, with a whole host of clubs from across the Premier League and Europe showing a keen interest, knowing the 26-year old still has something to offer.

But now the Daily Mirror, Arsenal have been alerted to Moreno’s contract situation with the defender available on a free transfer at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

Gunners boss Unai Emery worked with Moreno when they were together at Sevilla and is reportedly keen to take him to the Emirates as he needs regular back-up for Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac, who are solid performers for the club but are not able to play in every game of the season.

Could Moreno really end up at Arsenal? Here is what we think.

The idea will come as a crazy one to many Arsenal fans who believe Moreno would not bring anything to the club after such an unsuccessful spell at Liverpool, but the Spanish star could be a solid squad member, especially for nothing at the end of the season.

So if Emery really wants to complete a deal for Moreno, he ha nothing to lose as he would be getting his former player for absolutely nothing.
