Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –

Ray Parlour believes Declan Rice can realise his full potential as a box-to-box midfielder if he joins ARSENAL this summer.

Rice is one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League and a man that is heavily tipped to leave West Ham this coming transfer window – with all the big clubs interested in a potential deal.

But Parlour has claimed that a move to the Emirates would help Rice realise his full potential: “I think most West Ham fans would expect Declan Rice to leave,” Parlour said on this morning’s talkSPORT Breakfast show.

“Of course I’d like him to go to Arsenal! I think most clubs would like him. He’s an excellent player, he’s never injured, he looks after himself.

“Going to ARSENAL, he might get a bit more of the ball and he might be able to get forward a bit more.

“When you’re playing at a club down the bottom of the Premier League you have to defend a little bit more as a midfielder, so we might not have seen the best of him yet.

“He can get forward a little bit more, because he is a good footballer as well. He’s a box-to-box midfielder who can score goals and also defend when he has to. He can’t really do that at West Ham.

“But for West Ham, it’s all about what they get for him and what they put back into the squad – they could probably get three or four top quality players for the money they get for him.

“I’m sure West Ham fans will look at it and say he’s been a great servant for the club and he’s doing it the right way, he wants to play a bit higher.

“And when Declan Rice does leave and comes back to the London Stadium, I think he will get an unbelievable reception from the West Ham fans.”

ARTETA WANTS CANCELO –

ARSENAL are considering a summer move for Manchester City outcast Joao Cancelo,

This season Mikel Arteta really has got many fans excited – with the Gunners now in second place in the Premier League with just five games to play – although Manchester City are now favourites for that title.

There will be Champions League football next season for Arsenal, no matter if they win the League, and Arteta knows that he will need to add to his squad in order to keep challenging for the titles.

90min report that the Gunners are interested in the star, with Arteta and Cancelo working together for a few months at Man City before the Spaniard left to take charge of Arsenal.

Bayern have Cancelo’s fate in their own hands as they are keen to keep hold of him beyond this season and have an option to buy in his loan agreement with City.

However, the German giants believe the €70m (£61m) figure is too much and if they are to sign the versatile defender permanently then they will need to negotiate a lower fee with his parent club.

Man City now feel that ARSENAL will be serious title contenders for next season and will not want to sell anymore players to Mikel Arteta that they believe would improve the squad.

Cancelo is a brilliant star that would be a great signing for the Gunners and that is why Man City will not allow him to move to London.

They would much prefer to see him stay at Bayern and that is what we are fully expecting to see happen – although the right offer may see a move to the Emirates happen.

SAKA SIGNS UP –

Bukayo Saka has agreed his new ARSENAL deal and an announcement will be made shortly, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Over the past few seasons – Saka has developed into one of the very best wingers in the game and a star that Mikel Arteta can really rely on – and win games for.

The winger has been instrumental in the North Londoners’ Premier League title bid this season with 14 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

There has been alot of speculation about his future at the club – with a whole host of big names linked with an ambitious move for the Englishman – espcially with the winger not officially agreeing a new contract at the Emirates.

However – according to Romano, Saka is close to signing on the dotted line. and this would allow the Gunners to announce the extension before the end of the season.

He tweeted: Bukayo Saka will sign new contract soon as it’s only matter of time.

“It was agreed two months ago, it’s sealed — there are no changes.

“New deal will be valid until June 2028 — Arsenal announcement expected soon.”

Meanwhile –  Mikel Arteta Arteta is not giving up on Arsenal’s title hopes just yet.

The Gunners trail leaders Manchester City by one point with only three games left to play, and there has been a feeling in the media that the reigning Premier League Champions will not lose the title.

But When asked if there is still belief in the squad that they can win the title, Arteta said: “That’s what we’re here for.

“It starts on Sunday again, there’s three games to go, this is the crucial one and right now we want to beat them and elevate our hopes and enthusiasm to keep going because everything is still to play for.”
