Arsenal told sign 19-goal star – Spanish International ‘would be statement’ signing For Arteta – Arsenal told sign defender

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –

Reporter Iomie Stanley believes that ex-Chelsea player Marc Guehi would be a ‘great signing’ for either Arsenal

Over the last few seasons – Arteta has got this Arsenal side from challenging for a top six side into challenging for that Premier League title – and they still have a chance to win the thing.

However – despite all the focus on the Premier League right now – there is still alot of speculation surrounding the players that Arteta will look to sign during the summer, especially now that they will be back in the Champions League.

That has led to some rumours in the media which have claimed that Arsenal and Tottenham are both ready to battle it out for the signature of Guehi – who has been impressing at Palace this season.

And adding a new defender to the squad is high up on things to do in the transfer window as Mikel Arteta knows that he needs back up for star pairing Gabriel and William Saliba.

And Stanley thinks that signing Guehi would be a wise move for the north London clubs, he told icfootballnews:‘Marc Guehi would be a great signing for Arsenal

‘He’s been knocking on the door of the top clubs for a few seasons now. He’s English, he’s young with good technical ability on the ball and he’s quick so he’s a modern centre back.

‘He’s decent enough in the air to cope and he’s got a great attitude. He’s a good character around the dressing room and is ready for that next step in his career.’

It would be interesting to see if he could handle the pressure of playing for one of the big clubs in the Premier League.

And the fact that he would add depth to the squad for not alot of money – he could be a very good signing for one of the clubs.

ARSENAL TOLD TO SIGN LUKAKU –

ARSENAL should consider signing CHELSEA forward Romelu Lukaku in this summer’s transfer market.

The Belgium international striker scored just eight Premier League goals the last season he played in the Premier League and the decision was made to send him back to Italian football.

Big things were expected of the Belgian star when he made the move back to Italian football and he has reignited his career in the game – netting an impressive 19 goals for Roma.

The 31-year-old is due to return to Chelsea in the summer in a bid to prove his worth to Mauricio Pochettino, but could yet become available as the Board will look to cash in on the big man.

A thin pool of players will be available to Arsenal this summer, but reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed that Chelsea should consider a move for Lukaku: “Ivan Toney would have suited Arsenal, but there are now quite a few clubs interested.

“Romelu Lukaku might be available. The 31-year-old is an out-and-out centre-forward. He will stay up front and back into players. That might help Arsenal.

‘He is big and powerful and will give the Gunners a different kind of attack – he could suit the style of Arteta.

“Ollie Watkins I can’t see leaving Aston Villa –  Unai Emery has made him a better player and i think that he is happy working under the former Gunners boss.

‘If Arsenal bought him and he went and he only got ten goals next season, you wouldn’t be shocked.

“They looked at Dominic Calvert-Lewin before. Would that be right for them after the season he’s had? Probably not.”

Look, Lukaku has all the ability and attributes to be one of the best strikers in the game – and for a short time at Inter – he was that.

We are not sure that he would be a success at ARSENAL – especially with the way that they like to play.

FERRAN TORRES STATEMENT –

Barcelona star Ferran Torres would be a statement signing for ARSENAL in the summer window – reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed.

Torres last played in the Premier League for Man City – scoring 16 goals in 43 games across all competitions.

He decided to leave the Premier League Champions and make the move to Barcelona in the summer of 2022 – but he has not been a regular starter for the club and is now one of the players that the club are open to letting leave.

The Spaniards knows that they will need to get rid of a few players in the transfer window as they are keen to balance the books – and maybe add a few more quality players to the squad.

Now – amid the speculation – Stanley has opened up and claimed that Torres could be a statement signing for the Gunners  – he said: “It’d be exciting, definitely.

“This transfer window, Arsenal can’t be going in for average players, if they really want to win that Premier League title and beat Man City, they’ve got to push on and sign big players.

“Mikel Arteta will know he has a squad of maybe 20 players who he is happy with. The rest will be free to move on.

ARSENAL need better quality beyond that starting eleven and a few subs.

“Torres would help Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, and I think it’d be a real statement signing.

“He’s only recently won trophies with Man City and he’s won the league with Barcelona – so he would be a signing that has played at the highest level of the game, impressed and won trophies in the process.’

“The only issue may be his asking price – as Barcelona will surely want close to £80 million for the Spaniard.’
