Arsenal told to sign Midfield Powerhouse from French giants this summer!

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been encouraged to bring Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana to the club this summer transfer window.

After an impressive season in France – Fofana is a player that ARSENAL are very much interested in signing as Mikel Arteta wants to add some more depth to that midfield that he has.

Fofana has talked up the chances of a move away from Monaco this summer but despite the reports and speculation surrounding his future – there has not been any real concrete interest from chasing clubs just yet as the European Championships is stalling the transfer window.

However – amid all the speculation – former Gunners star Emmanuel Petit has encouraged Arsenal to sign Fofana this summer – Speaking to Gambling.com, Emmanuel Petit said: “If Arsenal were looking at buying a holding midfielder I would try and get Youssouf Fofana from Monaco, who is playing for the national team at the Euros.

“He is a very good player who can be good for Arsenal. There aren’t many players in France, for example, that are a good fit for Arsenal. Arsenal are playing for the Champions League and the Premier League so they need top level players.

“If you are looking to add a player to the squad, you need to improve on the quality of the team, and at the moment there aren’t many suitable options playing in France- there are many interesting players but it’s too soon for a lot of them…”

Fofana recently spoke on his future and told Get French Football News: “My future? I have spoken about it with the hierarchy, it isn’t a secret.

“We had exchanges and they agreed to accompany me in this new stage. If it (a move) doesn’t happen, I still have a year left and I will be happy to stay.

“We were in agreement that we would accompany each other in this process in which everyone should be a winner, be it me or the club.”
