Arsenal told to complete ‘brilliant’ striker signing this January

Mikel Arteta has been told to bring in a brilliant striker to Arsenal this January transfer window.

There is no doubt that this current Arsenal squad is playing some brilliantly football – some exciting football – and that is why they are sitting top of the Premier League.

But Mikel Arteta knows that he needs to sign some players this transfer window and add some much needed depth to the squad – and although he has missed out on a number of targets – there are still options.

And with the injury to Gabriel Jesus and the lack of back-up for the Brazilian – Frank McAvennie has urged Arsenal to sign an out and out striker this month – and has insisted signing a striker is imperative for Arsenal.

“I think if Arsenal get a brilliant out -and-out striker, that is what they need,” he told Football Insider.

“Jesus could play off any decent striker. That would be a match made in heaven. Jesus is a good player. I get that he is not an out and out striker but he is not doing too bad.

“If they got a striker in Arsenal would be scoring more goals, and they are already scoring quite a few without an out and out striker.“
