Mikel Arteta and Edu told to sign top star for Arsenal before £30M transfer

Arsenal have been told to sign a top star before allowing Kieran Tierney to depart the club this summer window.

A few seasons ago – Tierney was a player that the fans loved and that Mikel Arteta really relied on – but injuries have really ruined his time at the Emirates and he has really struggled for game time.

That has led to constant speculation in the media that he is one player that will be leaving the club – with the likes of West Ham and Newcastle two clubs that are interested in a possible deal.

Now – amid all the speculation and rumours – it has been claimed that the decision has been made to allow Tierney to leave the club and recoup some of that £200 million that has been spent on new signings.

However – Pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has come out and encouraged ARSENAL to make sure that they sign a top star before allowing Kieran Tierney to depart the club over the next few weeks.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID – 

“I would only sell Tierney if a replacement was ready,” he told Football Insider

“If they got someone who is a better defender because Zinchenko is outstanding, but there were games last season where he got targeted, and we had the same discussion about Trent Alexander- Arnold , who’s defending is no better.

“Teams will target that side so I would definitely keep Kieran Tierney unless they sign a top left-back that is ready to come straight in as his replacement.”

It comes after Mikel Arteta dropped a massive hint that more business could get done this summer – When asked if Arsenal fans can expect more signings this summer, Arteta told Sky Sports: ‘Let’s see.

‘There’s a lot of time still in the market and a lot of expectations in some of our players as well.

‘We’ll have to see and how things develop in the next couple of weeks.

‘We’ll be alert. There’s still time to do things and there’s still time for exits obviously. I’m sure things will move.’
