Frenchman wants Arteta to bring skill-full £50M star to Arsenal over Mudryk

Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit hopes Arsenal walk away from Mykhailo Mudryk – and turn instead to Newcastle’s Allan Saint-Maximim.

Shakhtar Donetsk value Ukraine winger Mudryk similarly to Manchester United’s £84million recruit Antony – and they will not be allowing him to leave for much less than that valuation.

The Gunners have had two offers rejected and that has led to speculation in the media that Arsenal may walk away from the deal and turn their attentions to someone else – and Petit is hoping that the Newcastle star is the man that the Gunners go fo.

Ex-France midfielder Petit told Compare.Bet: “Don’t be drawn into a bidding war with Chelsea.

“If Chelsea want to splash £100million on him, Arsenal should let him go.

“But I’m not sure that’s the desire of Mudryk. I’ve been told he wants to come to Arsenal, reuniting as a pair with [Oleksandr] Zinchenko.”

Petit added: ‘We all know the qualities of Saint-Maximin, and he’s still on my mind all the time.

‘If he’s in a good system with good players, he can still improve a lot. So for me, Saint-Maximin would be a good option if Arsenal can’t buy Mudryk.”

There has been so much hype – there has been so much speculation surrounding the future of Mudryk that nobody knows what is going to happen by the end of the transfer window.

Saint-Maximin has had a brilliant season with Newcastle and is a man that is already proven in the Premier League – and the fact that he would cost way less than Mudryk, makes him a much more attractive signing.

But why would he leave Newcastle now? They are a side that most in the Premier League are fearing and honestly – a move away now could be a massive mistake.

But he would still be a better option than Mudryk that is for sure
