Italian confirms Arsenal decision made – £30M star will be a Gunner this January

Arsenal have made a decision on the future of Takehiro Tomiyasu it has been claimed in the media.

Tomiyasu joined the north Londoners from Bologna in the summer of 2021, where he has scored once in 71 matches.

The 25-year-old has featured in 18 games in all competitions this term, where he has played in both full-back roles, and he was a standout performer in the 6-0 win over Lens earlier in the season, where he chipped in with two first half assists.

However – that has not stopped all the speculation in the media over the past few months that the Gunners would be open to letting the star depart the club over the next couple of weeks

Napoli recently asked about the possibility of signing him, but the Gunners told the Italian side that he was not for sale.

Italian journalist Ciro Venerato said yesterday on Tg Sport on RAI Play: “Last night (Sunday) too, Arsenal reiterated their no for Kiwior and (above all) Tomiyasu, the true passion of the Campania management.”

There were quite a few in the media that believed Tomiyasu was never going to be good enough to get a regular starting spot in that ARSENAL side, that he may struggle in the Premier League, but he has proven alot of people wrong.

He is one of those players that Mikel Arteta can really rely on and the sooner that a new deal is agreed, the better. There are some big clubs looking at his situation and are ready to move should a new deal not happen in the coming months.

But all indications suggest that he wants to stay, so the news that Arsenal have now informed chasing clubs that they have no intention of selling the player will come as some big news for his supporters at the club.
