Arsenal Vs Tottenham! Spurs warned as Emery wants ‘to create new history’

Unai Emery wants to create “new history” at Arsenal as they prepare for a first north London derby against Tottenham.

The Gunners head into their biggest game of the season just three points behind their London rivals, and it will the first Spurs-Arsenal derby for Emery, who has made an impressive start to life at the Emirates.

The Spaniard may have lost his first two matches as Arsenal boss, but since then he has remained unbeaten, guiding the side to an impressive 11 game winning run in the process.

And after seeing former boss Arsene Wenger’s record of 18 wins, 18 draws and eight losses against Spurs, Emery is now hoping to extend his unbeaten run and create a new history.

“Each match, like this derby, is different. We want to create a new history – it’s a different moment for Tottenham and for us,” Emery told Sky Sports.

“They are going to play for the first time [against] players with us – the coach and all the staff.

“We want to start playing one derby like that, with a good experience. But above all, in the 90 minutes, we [want to] show everybody a good performance and energy.

“I know from living in Spain and France, different matches like this, and I want to feel this match here with our supporters at the Emirates.

“I know it’s going to have a very big atmosphere for us, and we want to win, first as it’s a derby, but also for the three points because in the table we need to continue in our process.”

Can Arsenal stop an in-form Spurs side?

The two London giants are in great form and are both playing some fantastic football, so it should be a very entertaining game for the neutral.

But form does not matter when these two meet as it is the most fierce derby in the Premier League, as the two sides will give everything just to win this match.

Arsenal can stop Spurs from picking up the three points, but they need everything to go their way as Maurizio Pochettino’s side have the better squad.

It wouldn’t surprise us though if this game ended in a draw.
