UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has said players from the 12 proposed breakaway clubs should be banned from all UEFA competitions “as soon as possible.” and that clubs may also get banned from Uefa competitions as soon as possible.
Controversial plans were unveiled last night by 12 clubs to form a breakaway new league, with six Premier League clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham, signed up to the proposals.
The whole world is watching on to see what clubs, managers and players have to say on the proposed deal, that could end ruin the beautiful game of football that we love in the next couple of seasons
Arsenal are still currently involved in the Europa League and could have a chance to win that title in the next couple of months, but they have been sent a clear message by Uefa President Ceferin that players risked being banned from any UEFA competitions with immediate effect.
Sky Sports pundit Bryan Swanson Tweeted: “UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has said players from the 12 proposed breakaway clubs should be banned from all UEFA competitions “as soon as possible.” Euro 2020? “We’re still assessing situation with our legal team.” #SSN #UEFA
Look, Arsenal are not the only club that are involved in the massive stories over the past 24 hours, but they are turning their backs on the loyal fans that have supported them over the years for money.
The Gunners are a big club, but they are not one of the biggest in world football and they will struggle to compete with the likes of Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and even Liverpool on a weekly basis.
They are in it for the money…not success.
