GAME DAY: Arsenal ‘are going to win’ announces Frenchman – Arteta wants win!

Former Arsenal and Chelsea defender William Gallas has backed Arsenal to beat “struggling” Manchester United this weekend.

The Gunners dropped points for the first time last week with a 2-2 home draw against Fulham, as boss Mikel Arteta has come into alot of criticism for all the tactics he has been trying to employ this season.

ARSENAL are taking on Manchester United at the Emirates in a huge Premier League clash today, and Gallas as tipped his former club to pick up the three points and go into the International break just a few points behind leaders Man City.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

Gallas told Gambling Zone: “Arsenal are going to win. They will win because Man Utd are struggling, so Arsenal will win. It will be very interesting to see how Arsenal are going to play.

“After what they did against Fulham, I was disappointed because it looked like Arsenal didn’t learn from their mistakes of last season.

“If you play to win the Premier League, you come through games like Fulham, a 2-2 draw is unacceptable.

“We’re going to see if Arsenal have a good reaction but they still have that problem when they play against the small teams they are not focused on.”

TEAM NEWS –

The big one kicks off at 4.30pm BST.

For ARSENAL, Gabriel Jesus will be pushing for a start after returning against Fulham last week, but Long-term absentees Jurrien Timber and Mohamed Elneny will both be unavailable.

Rumours of Eddie Nketiah being injured are supposedly untrue and Takehiro Tomiyasu has served his one-match suspension after his red card at Palace.

WHAT THE MANAGERS HAVE SAID –

Arteta: “We know the history between the two clubs and the games that we had in the past. They were a really good example so it’s going to be a really competitive match and a big battle on Sunday. Obviously we want to come away from that with three points.

“We all want to win games, we all want to play the best possibly way. That’s not going to dictate but it gives you momentum and belief. Before the international break, it’s very important to finish well and win your game and go into September with another block of games on a high.”

Ten Hag: “It’s one of the biggest games in the Premier League. We are really looking forward to the fight. They are always interesting games, intense games between two teams who play really offensive football with the right intentions. The audience is always the big winner of the game, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
