Arsenal want £60m man – £180k-a-week star to leave in 2024 – Gunners told to sign winger
Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –
Arsenal have been urged to sign Kaoru Mitoma as the Brighton winger would be an upgrade on their current attacking options.
A breakout star in 2022/23, the Japan regular managed seven goals and five assists in the league, and this term he already has three goals and three assists in just seven games, with his performances catching the attentions of all the biggest clubs.
Brighton have already raised huge funds from the sales of Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella to Chelsea, and Mitoma could well be on their watchlist as they know that clubs are willing to pay big money in order to get a deal done.
Now, amid all the speculation and the rumours – reporter Iomie Stanley has opened up and told ARSENAL why Mitoma would be a very good signing for the club, he told IcFootballnews: ‘He’s a very exciting player and he never seems to have any doubt of the ball, and he plays with a smile on his face.
‘His attitude would be perfect for any club. Some players think too much, but Mitoma relies on instinct. You can tell he’s worked very hard on the training ground to achieve this, and now he’s got to a point where he looks like a natural.
“Managers know exactly what they’re going to get from Mitoma, and he’d be a strong asset to any club. Especially as he is already proven in the Premier League and at the very top.
‘Brighton are hoping to tie the man down to a new contract – so Arsenal wont get a deal done easily, but if they are looking to add another player to the side in the January, then Mitoma would be a great option.
‘However – with the likes of Man United and Chelsea also in the running and the fact that ARSENAL already have a number of quality wingers, it would take some convincing Mitoma to make the move to London.’
PARTEY TO MOVE ON?
Arsenal star Thomas Partey could leave the Emirates in 2024, according to journalist Charles Watts.
Thomas Partey has been a player that has been in the transfer headlines ever since the news broke that ARSENAL were interested in signing Declan Rice.

And since the Midfielders move to the Emirates for £105 million – there has been even more rumours in the media suggesting that he wants out – that he is interested in a move away and does not fancy sitting on the bench.
Mikel Arteta has tried to incorporate the midfielder into his side by changing his position in the side and messing around with the tactics of his squad, which has had mixed results so far this season.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID
Charlie Watts was quoted: ‘I would have liked someone like [Romeo] Lavia from Southampton. I think he would have been a good option, but I can see why that didn’t happen this summer.
‘I do think the time to think about Partey’s exit will be this summer. I don’t know if I would do it. But I think it’s certainly something Arsenal will think about given his contract, there is only a year left, given his age and injury record.
‘If a good offer comes in for him, it’s kind of similar to what last summer was. We knew it was something they were open to if something came in that was tempting. I think that would be the case again this summer.’
IcFootballnews View…
There has already been so much speculation about Thomas Partey leaving the club for Juventus and we are still in September, so we are sure there will be alot more said about this over the next few months.
If Partey wants to play on a regular basis and does not fancy keeping the bench warm, then a move away from the Emirates may be the best thing for him and his career.
ARSENAL will use the £30 million they could possibly get and sign a player that adds something different to the squad – so if does Partey moves on – he will not be missed too much.
WATKINS WANTED –
Arsenal are set to target Aston Villa hitman Ollie Watkins in the January transfer window, it has been claimed.
The Gunners spent some serious money in the summer transfer window and added players to the side that have made them the favourites to take that Premier League title off Manchester City.
However – there is a feeling that Mikel Arteta is taking a goal-scorer that has the ability to score 20 goal a season and there has been alot of speculation that Brentford striker Ivan Toney is the man that many fans want at the club.
However – according to the latest reports from Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Arsenal board have now been impressed with Watkins and are lining up for the Villa striker in the next transfer window.
The move presents an attractive option for the England star, who has confessed his “dream” is to play for the Gunners.
Watkins has already scored seven goals and provided four assists in 13 games this season.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
Reporter Iomie Stanley has said that Villa will “do well” to keep hold of the forward amid interest from one of the big clubs, as Watkins would be tempted by a move to ARSENAL.
He Said: “Strikers are always at such a premium, and especially a forward that has been impressing like Watkins.
“Some of the top clubs, whether Villa like or not, can poach those players. Ollie Watkins has a good head on his shoulders. He works hard for the team – and his ability in front in goal is up there with some of the best in the League.
‘If Arsenal actually make a move for the man and offer the £60 million that Villa currently value Watkins at – it will be very hard for him to turn down such a move.
‘Villa are on their way up – have a world class manager and have signed some big players – but the Gunners are already one of the biggest clubs in the game.
‘They will not want to sell their star man – but Watkins will definitely be tempted by a move to ARSENAL.’
