Arsenal want £66M Beast – Italian reveals midfielder ‘always wanted Arsenal’ – Fans get £30m transfer update
Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –
Arsenal fans have been told that Jorginho has never had any intentions of leaving the Gunners.
With the arrivals of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz this summer there has been much talk of a revamped midfield at ARSENAL, with Jorginho not tipped by many to be first choice.
That has led to some suggestions in the media that he is a player that the Gunners would allow to depart the club over the transfer window – with a move to the Spanish league or Saudi Arabia mooted for the Italian star.
In recent days it has been claimed that a move to Fenerbahce has been on the cards, but if you believe the words of Charlie Watts, Jorginho has never had any intention of leaving the Gunners.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
“It’s just another example of what a good signing Jorginho has been,” said Watts. “Jorginho, for just £10 million, he has been an absolute steal. He has been such a good signing for Arsenal.
“He has done brilliant work on the pitch when he has played. He hasn’t let Arsenal down, at all. He has been fantastic. I really think he has a big part to play this season, especially in the Champions League.
“I think he is such an underrated signing for Arsenal since he has come in for £10 million. He has been an absolute steal. I am delighted the club kept him around this summer.
“There were obviously those rumours doing the rounds that he could potentially go. As I said, at the time, there was nothing in the rumours. No substance. He wanted to stay. ARSENAL wanted him to stay.”

Look, Jorginho is great to have in the side for many reasons off and on the pitch – he really is world class.
The fact he wants to stay is massive as he will be an invaluable member of the squad, but this may be the only season he has left because there will be more speculation at the end of the campaign
PARTEY UPDATE –
Fabrizio Romano has spoken about the rumours linking Arsenal star Thomas Partey with a move to Juventus.
Thomas Partey has been a player that has been in the transfer headlines ever since the news broke that ARSENAL were interested in signing Declan Rice.
And since the Midfielders move to the Emirates for £105 million – there has been even more rumours in the media suggesting that he wants out – that he is interested in a move away and does not fancy sitting on the bench.
Mikel Arteta has tried to incorporate the midfielder into his side by changing his position in the side and messing around with the tactics of his squad, which has had mixed results so far this season.
However – despite the reports that Juventus are keen on the man as a replacement for Paul Pogba, a departure perhaps seems less likely now, with Romano adding that Partey’s focus is on Arsenal.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
Romano said: “The big news in Italy at the moment is about Paul Pogba – he has been officially suspended. Juventus will now decide how to act on this situation, because it’s crucial for them to understand what really happened after this big decision from the Italian anti-doping tribunal.
“If this is confirmed, it will be important to see what happens in terms of Pogba’s contract. Some in Italy are already reporting on a potential contract termination, but let’s see what happens.
‘For sure, it’s been a very unlucky second spell for Pogba at Juventus, with many injuries and almost never playing and now this situation with the anti-doping tribunal.
“The Pogba situation means we’re again seeing rumours about Thomas Partey and Juventus, but there was no chance this summer. He was on Juventus’ list but it was impossible for them to pay €45/50m.
‘ARSENAL also didn’t want to sell him after considering this possibility just at the beginning of the window.
“It’s very quiet now, despite these new links, and Thomas is focused on Arsenal.”
VLAHOVIC WANTED –
It has again been claimed that ARSENAL will try and sign Dusan Vlahovic in the January window, a man that rejected the club two years ago.
Vlahovic has been made available this summer by Juventus, despite starting and scoring in both of their Serie A games to begin the season, and with reports Arsenal are keen on adding a forward to the attack, he has been linked.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
Now, Football Transfers has claimed that Arsenal will return for Serbian striker Vlahovic in the winter window to bulk up their squad.
Vlahovic was a big target for the Gunners back in January 2021 to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the side but the forward opted not to move to the Premier League. Instead, he settled in Turin with Juventus.
But with Juve still out of European competition though following UEFA rule-breaking and Vlahovic seeking to play in the Champions League, an exit could be feasible in the next 12 months, the report adds.
Jermaine Pennant recently encouraged Arsenal to try and sign Vlahovic: “Kai Havertz is not a number 9,” Jermaine Pennant told bitcoincasinos. “He doesn’t score goals, and he’s not a clinical finisher either,”
“Number 10 is probably his best position, but from what I’ve seen, I’m not sure why Arteta has paid big money for him. He probably wouldn’t have got into the team last season, so to me it’s just a really bizarre signing.
“Unless Arteta says after Christmas: ‘Guys, this is why I brought him, look at these stats’, but having seen him for three or four games, I don’t know why Arsenal have bought Kai Havertz – it doesn’t make sense.”
“If you’re spending £65m on Havertz then £30m on David Raya, that’s close to £100m – why not invest that in looking for a striker? They’re buying players in positions that they don’t really need.
“There was talk a couple seasons ago of the club bringing Dusan Vlahovic in. I think he looks good; he reminds me of Olivier Giroud – he can hold up the ball, he’s good with his head, and in a team like Arsenal he’ll have a lot of chances created for him.
‘Someone like him would be a good signing for ARSENAL.”
