Arteta sent clear message about possible Arsenal signing of 13-assists star
Brad Friedel has warned Arsenal that it could take January transfer target Facundo Torres some time to adjust to the Premier League
Despite the fact that Arsenal are sitting pretty at the very top of the Premier League – Mikel Arteta knows that he needs to keep adding to the side in order to keep on improving.
There is a massive feeling that if Arsenal pick up a couple of injuries – they will not be able to keep picking up the results as the squad is not as deep as some of their top four rivals – and that has led to speculation that Torres is a player that they want
Torres has scored ten goals and laid on 13 assists in Major League Soccer this season and his performances is attracting all sorts of interest from big clubs.
But amid all the speculation that Arsenal are keen on the man – Brad Friedel has warned the Gunners that it may take some time for Torres to adjust to the quality of the Premier League
“I’ve seen a lot of Torres,” Friedel claimed. “He’s very good in the attacking third, but he’s not very big in stature.
“Mikel Arteta has done a really good job in the transfer market and he’s got rid of players who don’t fit the style.
“Torres does have a lot of end product but I think it’d take a lot of time for him to get up to speed and physicality of the Premier League.
“The MLS is very back and forth a lot of the time, so I don’t know if he’d be an immediate starter but he’s a talented boy that’s for sure.”
