Big Arsenal-Zaha debate, £50m Koscielny replacement, Gunners wants Chelsea star, Ozil stataement released, £15m star wants summer move
Its been a very busy week for Arsenal and there has been a lot of transfer talk and news in the media, but we have chosen the top five news stories that have been dominating.
With the news that Arsenal are all set to lose experienced defender Laurent Koscielny, there has been some fresh reports in the media which has suggested that Arsenal could reignite their interest in Samuel Umtiti.
Bordeaux have put forward a three-year deal to Koscielny, who has entered the final year of his contract at the Emirates, and while the Gunners want Koscielny to stay and run down his contract, the defender wants long-term security at the age of 33.
And now reports have claimed that the centre-back wants to be released on a free so he can return to his homeland, and he won’t link up with Unai Emery in the United States.
That has led to a whole load of speculation about whom could come in and replace the Frenchman at the club, with Umtiti back on the shopping list.
With Emery looking to spend some serious money during the summer transfer window, there has been some speculation in the media that the Spanish boss is seeking to add some world class defenders to his squad, with Umtiti high up on the shopping list.
A knee injury, which required surgery, has seen the Frenchman lose his starting place to countryman Clement Lenglet, and reports have suggested Barcelona are willing to allow him to depart the club.
And reports have suggested that Emery is willing to spend around £50 million to try and secure a deal for the Barcelona defender, despite their meagre transfer kitty.
More shock reports have emerged which have suggested Arsenal will now rivals Manchester United for the signature of Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
There have been some shock reports in the media which have claimed Manchester United have made contact with Chelsea about a possible deal for Tiemoue Bakayoko and submitted and enquiry for the midfielder.
The midfielder spent 2018/19 on loan at AC Milan and despite his good moments, his time in Italy ended badly after being victim of racist abuse by a group of Lazio fans.
However, there has been a lot of transfer speculation in the media over the past few months which have suggested that French giants PSG may be interested in trying to take him to Ligue 1 this summer, with an offer of around £25 million on the cards.
Chelsea are unable to sign any players this transfer window, but Blues boss Frank Lampard already has a number of midfielders in the squad, meaning that he would be open to the idea of selling.
But according to reports on the RMC website, United have made contact with Chelsea about a possible deal for the Frenchman as they line-up an immediate replacement for Paul Pogba.
But the report has also suggested that Arsenal are interested in trying to sign the midfielder, with Unai Emery keen to add a pit of power to his midfield.
There has been a lot of speculation on this deal, but here is what we think about a possible Arsenal deal for Wilfred Zaha.

Fenerbache have insisted they will not be making any move to sign Mesut Ozil from Arsenal this summer, as he is too expensive.
Ozil is one of the Gunners biggest players and one of the best number tens in world football, when he is on top form. But he has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past 12 months as his performances in an Arsenal shirt have not matched the wages he was given under Arsene Wenger.
It was no secret that Ozil was almost out-of-contract last February before Arsenal gave in and offered him a massive £350,000-a-week deal, especially as they literally just let Alexis Sanchez leave for Manchester United and did not want to lose another big named player.
But since then his performances have been inconsistent and he has been heavily criticised for his work-rate, even being dropped by current boss Unai Emery for the big games of the premier League season, with many ultimately claiming that he could be sold this summer.
And that led to speculation that Fenerbache had opened talks with Arsenal about a possible deal for the German midfielder.
However, Fenerbahce have now moved to downplay reports of an impending offer, conceding they don’t have the funds to sign Ozil, with a statement from the Super Lig side read on the Daily Express: ‘Mesut Ozil, with his career and standing, successfully represents our country abroad.
‘He is an important value known with the identity of Fenerbahce. ‘However, Fenerbahce does not have a proposal for Mesut Ozil. ‘Under the current economic conditions, such a step is not possible for both parties.
‘Our president, Ali Koc, made statements on the subject in the WinWin program held on June 20 and emphasised that this could not be realised in the short term.’ Ozil is Arsenal’s best paid players on a £350,000-a-week contract, a deal he signed in January 2018 after relentless transfer speculation linking the German with an exit.”
Manchester United and Arsenal are chasing Southampton’s Mario Lemina, who has admitted that he is seeking to leave the Saints this summer.
It has been a very unproductive season for United and Arsenal this summer, with the two clubs expected to do their big business over the coming weeks in order to build a side that is capable of winning the Premier League title.
And they have not both been alerted to a possible deal for Lemina, the 25-year-old who joined the Saints in 2017 for around £18 million, after he reportedly askes for a move away this summer.
“He has an agreement with manager Ralph Hasenhuttl that if the right offer came in, then he would be allowed to leave,” south coast correspondent Alex Crook said on the TalkSport website
“It hasn’t worked out for him at Southampton. There is a player in there and some of his performances have been really impressive, but you can count those on one hand.
“I think Ralph Hassenhuttl, as he looks to revamp his squad, just grew frustrated, certainly in the second half of last season that he was never fit and there was a feeling among the powers that be at Southampton that he was not working as hard as he could to get fit.
“What’s interesting is that when Atalanta tried to sign him last week – they wanted him on loan, but Southampton wanted to sell him and their asking price was around £15m. As you know, when Arsenal and Man United are interested that price goes up.”
