Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –

Victor Gyokeres has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent months – but Ally McCoist has suggested he may not the man that makes the move to London.

Gyokeres has scored 43 goals for Sporting and is one of the form attacking players in European football this term, with many reports in the media suggesting that he could be sold in the coming transfer window.

Europe’s elite are queueing up to prise the Sweden international away from Lisbon after his stunning start to life with Sporting, and ARSENAL are one of the clubs that are desperate to delve into that transfer kitty and add a 30 goals a season forward to that attack

Sporting are expected to cash in on the striker by demanding £68m this summer.

AC Milan have also been linked with the Sweden international but the forward is thought to prefer a move to the Premier League after starting his career with Brighton in 2018

However – McCoist has opened up and claimed that it is much more likely that Ivan Toney or Alexander Isak make the move to the Emirates and not Gyokeres – peaking on talkSPORT’s  McCoist admitted that he believes Arsenal are more likely to go with the finished article in Alexander Isak or Ivan Toney than Gyokeres.

“I will be brutally honest. I think you are looking at guys like Isak, Toney, guys like that. Would they take the gamble? I think they probably will go for a finished article, a Toney or an Isak,” the 61-year-old said.

He may be good enough for that Portuguese League – but he could really struggle to make the impact that he would like in the Premier League – it is another level.

ARSENAL need a striker that could give the club different options – give them a chance of adding some more goals in a weekly basis and we are just not sure that Gyokeres is the man for that.

We cant wait to see who they actually sign guys.

TIMBER MAKES ARTETA CLAIM –

Jurrien Timber is hopeful that Mikel Arteta will remain Arsenal manager amid fears he could leave the club at the end of next season.

Mikel Artetat almost led Arsenal to their first Premier League title since 2024 – only to be beaten by Manchester City once again as they made it four titles in the last four seasons.

There has been alot of speculation in the media that Mikel Arteta could actually decide to depart the club at the end of next season with reports that Barcelona are interested in hiring the former midfielder.

Arteta did not ease these concerns when he recently admitted that he hoped to return to his native Spain in the future, though maintained he was ‘happy’ in North London and would hold talks over his future

Arsenal’s players have consistently praised Arteta’s work and Timber is hopeful that missing out on another title won’t dissuade him from penning a new deal, saying: ‘I think you can tell that Mikel is great.

‘He has made a lot of players better and he makes a great team. So, I think Arsenal needs him next season as well.

‘You feel that this team is not finished yet. It’s a good feeling to have and it is a good place to be with these guys.

‘But we need to win our first one still and, until that time, we will be hungry for sure. I had a feeling we deserved this year to win it, to be fair. I think in a lot of aspects of the game, we were really good this season.

‘But, let’s be honest, City are also great. It is always hard, but I think we were close. Next season we are going to try again.’

Arteta knows that he is in a strong position over a new deal – he knows that he can wait before agreeing anything. But we would be shocked if he did not agree another couple of years at ARSENAL

ARTETA WOULD LOVE TO SIGN NEVES

Mikel Arteta would love to bring Benfican star Joao Neves to Arsenal in the coming transfer window, it has been claimed.

After another stunning season for Arsenal in which they came very close to winning that Premier League title – Mikel Arteta is set to be backed in the coming transfer window.

Joao Neves is a player that the likes of ARSENAL  have been linked with in recent weeks – although his massive asking price may become an issue for some chasing clubs in the summer.

But that has not stopped all the speculation that he is a player that Arsenal would love to sign – especially as many believe he has the ability to develop into one of the very best defenders in world football.

But the Premier League giants will have to pay his €100million (£85.7m) release clause to win the race, as Reports in Portugal say that Benfica are adamant that Neves, 19, won’t be sold for less.

And according to Sportlens, Arsenal ‘would love’ to sign Benfica midfielder Joao Neves this summer transfer window.

Spending £87 million on a talent like Neves is mad – he has alot to prove and many fans would much prefer the club spend that kind of money on a world class player that can make an immediate impact.

The transfer is a few months away – but ARSENAL need to make sure they sign quality over quantity as they will need to bring in players that could make an immediate impact on the side.

Neves is a very talented – but he is not really the type of player that would get the likes of Man City and Liverpool worried for next season.
