Gunners legend hits out at ‘disrespectful’ Koscielny after Arsenal announcement made!
Gunners legend Ian Wright cannot believe the level of disrespect that defender Laurent Koscielny has shown the club after he completed his summer move to Bordeaux.
The Gunners fans were shocked just a few weeks ago after it emerged that Koscielny was looking to force through a move away from the club after Bordeaux reportedly offered him a three year contract to make the move back home.
Gunners boss Unai Emery tried to convince the club Captain to stay, but in the end, Koscielny already made up his mind and The Frenchman completed his £4.6m move to Bordeaux on Tuesday and his new club unveiled their signing with a short promotional video.
Wright was fuming over the video and took to Twitter, writing: ‘This hurts. The level of disrespect. You should be ashamed for the way you’ve left the club after 9 years! Got what you wanted and still trying to have a dig. Hope it’s worth it in the long run.’
‘So unnecessary. 9 years and you do this…makes no sense.’
Relations between him and the club quickly soured after he refused to go on the pre-season tour of America in a bid to force a move away from north London and it is a good thing that he has left the club.
The centre-back has since taken to Instagram to send a message to Arsenal fans about his decision to leave. ‘As you know i engaged with @girondins. After 9 years spent at Arsenal, I took the decision to leave,’ wrote Koscielny.
‘I have spent wonderful years with this club, nine years during which I learned, evolved, grew up. ‘This experience made me the player I am today. My decision to leave has been discussed for months with my club, my teammates, my coach, and it has been a well thought decision.
‘I see this departure like a new turning point in my life as a player but also in in my life as a man and a family man.
‘However I hope you understand, and in any case I cannot be thankful enough for these years past at Arsenal.
‘I am aware of everything that the club and you supporters have brought to me. But it is time for me to go home so today my will is to join the @girondins.
‘This is a new challenge that I count on taking with determination.’
