Arsenal buoyed by the news that £47 million midfielder is keen to make summer Emirates move
Arsenal have been buoyed by the news that Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is reportedly keen to join Arsenal at the end of the season.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Partey for many years now, and have once again showed a keen interest in a possible deal, as the 26-year-old has been in impressive form for the Spanish side and starred in their win over Liverpool in the Champions League earlier in the season
With the Coronavirus hitting all the big clubs very hard, it could mean that big clubs like Madrid do decide to sell a few stars in the coming transfer window to help balance the books and keep the finances in order, meaning that Arsenal could maybe get a bargain deal.
And the fact that the Spaniards have just moved into a new stadium and they only recently signed Joao Felix for over £100 million, while also having the highest-paid manager in the world, means that a move is more than on.
Now Journalist Graham Hunter has claimed that the Ghanaian international is ready to link up with Mikel Arteta’s men in the summer window.
It is believed that Partey is hoping to test himself in the Premier League and sees the Arsenal as the perfect opportunity in the English game.
Ghana pal Joseph Larweh Attamah recently urged his international team-mate to test himself in another League, he told Mundo Deportivo: “I would be happy if he goes to Arsenal. He’s done everything at Atletico, and is recognised as one of the world’s best midfielders.
“He has to go to another league to prove himself.
“He needs people to know he is capable of succeeding outside of Spain.”
Arsenal fans are sick of all the transfer speculation in the media and would much prefer that the hierarchy got off their fat arses and made some early transfer signings.
Partey would be a decent signing yes, but will Arsenal fans get to see a top-class defender arrive too? We think not!
Partey is not the only player that Arsenal are linked with and Arteta will need the backing of the board to acquire the players he needs to improve this side.
