Gunners board want in-demand Spaniard to sign up with Arsenal!

Arsenal want manager Mikel Arteta to commit his future to the club with some top clubs interested in stealing the Spaniard away.

Since Mikel Arteta made the decision to step out of the shadows of Pep Guardiola at Man City and make the move to Arsenal – he has turned this Gunners side into one of the best in the Premier League.

They are now the closest title challengers to Man City – and a side that many are tipping to go on an eventually overtake the Premier League giants as the best side in the English game.

The 42-year-old’s exploits briefly saw him linked with a move to Barcelona earlier this season after Xavi had announced his intention to stand down at the end of the current season.

Arteta emphatically shut down those rumours but his long-term future will remain a matter of conjecture while he has little more than 12 months to run on his current deal.

According to TBR Football, the Premier League giants want Arteta to ignore the interest of Man City and Barca and extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium and are hoping that a deal can be wrapped up soon.

Jorginho, who, himself, signed a new contract earlier this week, believes Arteta is in no rush to leave the Emirates and would love to see him commit to and extended stay in the ARSENAL hot seat.

‘I feel that he could stay way longer,’ Jorginho said.

‘I feel he feels good here and I honestly don’t see him going. It is really important for the club for him to stay because him with [technical director] Edu and the board, the whole club, they created something special. I don’t believe he wants to go as well.’

Surely ARSENAL are waiting until the season is up to extend that Arsenal contract – or maybe just before the final game of the season to give the side an extra push to try and win that Premier League title.

We are sure that a new deal is already pretty much done – it is just a case of when it will be announced.
