Arteta has plans for £40M star – Arsenal get chance to sign Frenchman – Arsenal ace ‘wants break from football’
Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you may have missed –
Arsenal have been handed a transfer boost in their chase of Chelsea star Ngolo Kante by Italian Fabrizio Romano
Now we all know that Kante is one of the best holding midfielders in the world and has been brilliant for Chelsea ever since you moved from Leicester City a few years ago.
His contract with the Blues runs out at the end of the season and there has been alot of speculation about his current situation at Stamford Bridge – and there has been a number of links with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain – Manchester United – Real Madrid Barcelona and even Arsenal
Chelsea do not want to lose him – that has been claimed in the media on many occasions and They have offered him a contract worth about £290,000 a week. But according to reports he had rejected the terms as the length of the contract is not what he desires, and he is currently considering his future at the club.
Chelsea are ready to part ways with N’Golo Kante in January provided they get £18m as transfer fees, according to recent reports on La Repubblica.
They know interest is high and would much prefer to get something for the Frenchman rather than lose him for nothing
Now – Romano has claimed that Kante is coming towards the end of his time at Stamford Bridge – He said on his YouTube channel:
“But the reality is that at the moment, there is still no agreement between the two parties. And this is why the expectation of those close to the player’s side and the club’s side is for N’Golo Kante to leave on a free.
“Big opportunity for many clubs.”
Arsenal have been linked with the man for some time now and this is a great chance to get a deal done – he is still one of the best holding midfielders in the world and a fresh challenge in the game may get him back to his very best
There is interest from a couple of Italian sides – but Kante is happy in England and a move across London would be one that he would much prefer
Tomiyasu wants break –
Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has admitted he wants a break from football following Japan’s exit from the World Cup
The talented defender helped Japan reach the knock-oy phase of the World Cup in fine fashion and were expected to breeze past a relatively aging Croatian side.
However – that was not the case and after a 1-1 result during normal time – it was Croatia that ultimately sealed a 3-1 victory on penalties and booked their place in the next round.
Arsenal have travelled to Dubai for a pre-season style tournament, where they will face Lyon and Milan in friendlies over the next week. But Tomiyasu doesn’t appear in a rush to get back to his club.
He told The Athletic: “Of course, we are so disappointed with the result. My performance was a disaster today so I am sorry for the team.”
“I can’t be proud. I am not satisfied about what happened. This is football and we need to be much, much better to win against a stronger team.”
When asked when he will return to Arsenal, Tomiyasu said: “I don’t know.
“Hopefully, I can get a bit of rest. I need time to forget about football. I need a bit of time.”
The World Cup will have been mentally and physically draining for many of those Arsenal players and the club will surely give the some of the returning stars some time off.
But the fact that Tomiysu is no longer a regular starter at the Emirates means that he will have time to get his head right – it is not want the boss wants to hear at this stage of the season.
Mudryk plans –
Mikel Arteta believes that he can turn Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk into more of a central player at Arsenal
Despite a fantastic start to the new season – the Gunners need to delve into that transfer kitty once again in the January window and add a few more players that will give the side some depth – and Mudryk is a player that the club want.
The highly-talented attacker has been making all the right noises in the game this season and is one of the most creative players in Europe right now – and a player that has made no secret of hiss desire to move to the Emirates.
Now – amid all the speculation that Arsenal will lookk to do a deal in January – CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs has told Give Me Sport that Arteta thinks Mudryk can become even more versatile with a move to Arsenal.
“Arteta feels that he can be developed into a more versatile player,” said Jacobs.
“At the moment he’s lightning quick, he’s got a good eye for goal, he weighs in with assists, he makes the pitch as big as possible, he starts on the left-hand side and he cuts in.
“I think Mikel Arteta thinks that he can spend more time during games in central areas and, even under select game management situations, switch sides as well.”
“As he adds those strings to his bow, he could live up to his reputation as one of the best players in that position. So, it’s one to watch from Arsenal’s point of view,” he added.
There has been so much speculation and reports around this possible transfer – but it will be interesting to see if the Gunners actually make a move as Mudryk is the only one that has shown a desire to reveal his actual interest in a switch
