Mikel Arteta drops hint £40M striker will be a Gooner right after imressive 2-0 Arsenal win
Mikel Arteta has once again dropped the biggest hint yet that Eddie Nketiah will be at Arsenal this summer – despite all the speculation and rumours that a move to Marseille is on the cards for the yong striker.
Nketiah has been a regular for Mikel Arteta over the past two seasons, but the majority of his appearances have been off the bench and he is a player that the club are open to letting go over the next few weeks.
Mikel Arteta has Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus in his attack for next season – and there is much talk that the club will seek to add another forward to the attack by the end of the transfer window.
That has led to constant speculation in the media that Marseille have made an offer to the striker to make the move to Ligue 1 this summer and recent reports on Foot Mercato is reporting that Nketiah has been sold on Marseille’s project and contract negotiations are going well between player and club.
Arsenal faced Lyon in the Emirates Cup at Emirates Stadium at the weekend and Arteta was asked about the future of Nketiah – He was quoted on the Football.London website:’ All the players that are here there’s biggest chance that they stay with us. That’s why they’re here.’

Nketiah is a very good young striker that will never be the regular starter at ARSENAL – he is just being kept around because he is a very good squad member to have in the side.
If he wants to make a big name for himself in the game he needs to leave – Marseille would be a fantastic move for the man to make – but if he stays at the Emirates – it is a decision he hopes will improve the game time that he gets.
