Arteta sends message to Wenger about return, New signing to give Arteta what he needs, Ozil will not play for Arsenal again, Partey final piece of the puzzle, Wenger makes Ozil claim
Wenger makes Ozil claim, Arteta sends Wenger message, Partey the final piece of the puzzle, Ozil won play for club again and Partey claim made in Arsenal roundup…
Arsenal fans have been told that Mesut Ozil wont play for the club again, while it has been claimed that Thomas Partey is the final piece of the puzzle.
Despite having over 250 appearances for the Gunners to his name, Ozil is well down the pecking order at the Emirates after Mikel Arteta invested heavily in the transfer window to get his midfield sorted out.
However, it has been claimed that Ozil may still have a future at the Emirates and may be able to offer the club something, if he manages to get back in the good books of Arteta, who has revealed that the club are evolving without the German.
But Kevin Campbell cannot see Ozil coming back into contention, as the midfielder is now part of the past at Emirates Stadium, rather than the present and future: “Mesut Ozil is yesterday’s news at the club,” former Gunners striker Campbell told GentingBet.
“There is no chance that he will feature for Arsenal again this season, or ever again.
“There have been certain things that have gone on, instances where he has gone against the club, so I don’t see where there is any room for him to come back.”
Meanwhile, Thomas Partey is “the final piece of the jigsaw that makes Arsenal challenge for the title”, says the club’s former scout Francis Cagigao
Arsenal ended months of speculation by adding Partey to the squad over the transfer window, with many people believing that the signing of the former Madrid man will help the club achieve their goals of winning that Premier League title.
And Cagigao believes Partey will deliver an immediate return on the investment made in him, saying it is possible that he could be the man to fire the Gunners back into contention for the Premier League crown.
“He is a player that we pursued for a long time and strongly recommended over the last few years,” a man who left Arsenal in September after 24 years with the club told the Daily Mail.
“I first watched him about six years ago playing for Almeria on loan from Atletico Madrid and he was more box-to-box, attacking even. I think we will see him with the shackles off because he did very much play in a constricted midfield unit [at Atletico].
“He could be the final piece of the jigsaw that makes Arsenal challenge for the title.”
Denis Suarez says Thomas Partey will provide something Arsenal have been lacking under Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was desperate to spend money in the transfer window and sign players that will come in and give the squad some more quality, and despite missing out on a number of possible signings, he can be happy with the business that he wrapped up.
One signing that has got many fans, and pundits excited, is the deal for Partey, who arrived at the club on deadline day in a deal that is worth £45 million, a bargain as the midfielder is worth close to £60 million.
And after seeing the midfielder make the move to the Emirates, Suarez says Thomas Partey will provide something Arsenal have been lacking under Mikel Arteta: “Arsenal lacked a player of that profile,” said Suarez on the GOAL website.
“Thomas, because of his physique, will feel comfortable in England,”
There has been so much said about the signing of Partey and many fans are expecting big things from the player, especially since he has proven himself at the very highest level of the game already.
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that Mesut Ozil can still have a future at the Emirates.
Ozil is into the final year of his contract and appears destined to become a free agent in 2021 having fallen well down the pecking order at the Emirates, with reports the Gunners are trying to get him out of the club in January.
But despite the fact that Mikel Arteta has stated that Arsenal are evolving without Ozil in the squad, Wenger says a recall could be earned if he meets Arteta’s demands and works his way back into favour
The iconic former Gunners boss told Sky Sports: “I don’t know what’s happening on a daily basis, I will just say one thing – creative players are perfectionists.
“They are a bit more sensitive and sometimes they need to be encouraged because, of course, if I want to play a risky pass I need to be confident. Creative players make the pass that makes a team dangerous.
“Mesut Ozil is an exceptional football player. What happens at the moment between him and the club looks to be more confrontational. It’s not based only on sport.
“If Ozil cannot play in the Europa League, I’m sorry, but this guy has won things, he’s a world champion, he’s an exceptional football player.
“Why is he not playing at the moment? I don’t know. When you’re a football player you have to respect the decision of your manager and fight to get the confidence back and fight to get back in the team. He can fight, contrary to what people think. He has enough quality to get back into the team, that’s down to him now.”
Spanish boss Mikel Arteta admits he is keen for Arsene Wenger to return to Arsenal and be ‘closer’ to the squad.
Regarded as one of the finest managers in the game, Wenger has been out of a job for a few years now after finally ending his 20-year love affair with the Arsenal in order for the club to get back challenging for titles and playing Champions League football.
But there has been some speculation in the media that he could make a move back to the Arsenal, and Arteta has indicated that he would be happy for Wenger to be handed a role at the club after his former manager spent 22 years at the club
‘I would like to see him back around us,’ said Arteta on the Sky Sports website. ‘He was a massive figure for me, he’s someone I can still learn a lot of things from.
‘I would like to have him closer to us, obviously the environment doesn’t allow us to do it.
“But I think he’s a figure who has to be very present in what we do at the football club because he’s, in my opinion, the one who had the vision and helped this club to evolve and help this club be what it is today.’
Many Arsenal fans would love to see the return of Wenger to the club, he brought them so much success over the season, so it will be interesting to see if the Arsenal board do make some sort of offer to the Frenchman.
Arteta is being fully backed by the board and has been handed everything that he needs to succeed. So as we said, it will be interesting to see if Wenger gets that move back to the club.
