Arteta still wants £53M star, Arsenal implored sign big striker, Gunners green light sign forward given

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer speculation from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

William Gallas has implored ARSENAL to sign a new striker and as claimed that the club should look to replace Kai Havertz with on-loan Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who is banging in the goals for Galatasaray.

Ever since the news broke last season that Victor Osimhen wanted to leave Napoli and seek a fresh challenge in the game, Arsenal were heavily linked with a move to try and bring the Nigerian star to the Premier League.

However, a combination of a massive £110 million asking price from Napoli and a reportedly very high £300,000-a-week wage demands from the player meant that Arsenal made the decision to stick with what they had for the season.

Kai Havertz started the campaign well and looked like a player that could break the 25 goal barrier this season, but his purple patch as Arsenal’s main centre forward, meanwhile, appears to have ended with the Germany international having found the back of the net only once in his last seven matches.

And with the Gunners Premier League title hopes fading, Gallas has opened up and implored his former club to sign a new striker like Osimhen – He told Genting Casino: ‘Kai Havertz has never ever been the right man to take Arsenal to the Premier League title.

‘Havertz is a good player, but he’s not top class. I’m sorry, but he’s nowhere near a world-class level, Arsenal need a player to replace him at striker.

‘I still don’t understand why Victor Osimhen is at Galatasaray, he needs to play in the Premier League and he can play at the top level at Arsenal.

‘It’s difficult to understand football sometimes, he played really well at Napoli, then made a move to Galatasaray, who are a big club but he needs to be playing at a higher level.

Havertz has done a decent job leading that Arsenal front-line, but he is not a 20 goals a season player, Osimhen is that type of man that will immediately improve the ARSENAL  attack.

He could be a great signing, it is that simple.

GYOKERES GREEN LIGHT GIVEN

Sporting president Varandas has been speaking on the future of Arsenal target Victor Gyokeres, and revealed whether the Sporting Lisbon forward will depart the club when the January transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time

This season, he has already scored 16 goals in just 10 League appearances, recently bagging a hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League and continuing to make a real name for himself at the Portuguese giants.

the likes of ARSENAL, Man United and Chelsea are just three clubs that are reportedly ready to splash the cash and bring the in-demand striker to the Premier League, and it is looking much more likely that a transfer happens after the departure of Amorim.

Amorim’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya revealed in the summer that Gyokeres was only at Sporting because of Amorim, and there has been some suggestions that the striker may be open to the idea of leaving Sporting when the transfer window opens up in January.

Now, the Sporting president has suggested that the striker could leave the club at the end of the season. As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Vandaras said: “I can’t promise anything. If a club arrives and pays the release clause, if he (Gyokeres) wants to go, he will go. But I do not think this will happen in January.”

Where Will Gyokeres Go?

There has been may clubs linked with the player and ARSENAL are one of the sides that are willing to splash some serious money in order to get a transfer deal done, but so are Man United and Chelsea

United are favourites because that is where Amorim is, but it will all come down to money and who offers the most, but it is looking more and more likely that Gyokeres does come to the Premier League that is for sure.

However – it may be a mistake to leave the Giants in the middle of the season and we are sure that a move in the summer is much more likely to happen for the player.

ZUBIMENDI WANTED

Arsenal are still very much interested in signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad this coming January transfer window, or at the end of the current season it has been claimed in the media

Arsenal were looking to add a few more players to the side during the last summer window and were heavily linked with a move for the impressive Zubimendi – who has been very good over in La Liga over the past few seasons

In the end however, ARSENAL FC made the decision to move for a few other players and opted to not splash the £53 million it would have taken to bring Zubimendi to the Premier League.

The north Londoners reportedly made contact with Zubimendi’s entourage over the summer and were reportedly dangerously close to a potential deal for the star according to reports, but they opted to sign Mikel Merino instead.

Their interest in the player has wavered in recent weeks – but according to Reporter Iomie Stanley, Arsenal are still interested in a deal for the Sanish star – he was quoted on icfootballnews: “Midfield is still a high priority, and we know that Arsenal have had a long-standing interest in Martin Zubimendi.

“Mikel Arteta managed to get most of the players that he wanted over the summer transfer window and the squad that the Gunners have should be alot better than being nine points off the League top.

‘There are other areas of the pitch that Arsenal need to work on, but Zubimendi is a player that Arteta would love to sign ahead of Liverpool and Man City.

Zubimendi has been brilliant for Sociedad over the past few seasons and we can easily see why the ARSENAL scouts too such an interest in the man, he really has been impressive.

It is probably the right decision to stay put for now – there is no need to move clubs at this stage of his career. But it will be interesting to see what move he makes next
