Arteta told sign £43M winger – Arsenal urged sign Seria A star – winger tells Arteta he wants to leave!
Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –
Arsenal ace Reiss Nelson has allegedly told the club he is considering leaving, just a year after penning a new long-term deal.
There had been some speculation that he could leave the club last summer in order to get some more game time – but the decision was made that he would stay put and agree a new contract
but according to The Athletic, Nelson’s time at the Emirates could be coming to an end as his game-time has been limited over the past season. After making just one Premier League start, the winger is now weighing-up his future.
And the 24-year-old has allegedly informed manager Mikel Arteta as well as club chiefs of his intention to “assess” his options before returning to pre-season. And the report adds that The Gunners will be looking for a transfer fee of around £20million for Nelson if both parties agree a move away is the best option.
Both Crystal Palace and West Ham want to keep the forward in London, while Nottingham Forest have also shown interest in bringing him to the City Ground.

Look, Arsenal signed him up to a new contract last summer and he must have really believed he would be given more game time under Mikel Arteta – but it is the right time to leave the club.
At this stage of his career he needs to be playing on a regular basis – not sitting on the bench every week and he will have his choice of clubs this transfer window.
Some ARSENAL fans will be sad to see him leave – but if he stays – his career will be going nowhere – even though he would be in one of the best sides in the Premier League.
ARSENAL TOLD SIGN NICO WILLIAMS –
Steve McManaman has encouraged Arsenal to take a chance on the signing of Nico Williams this summer window
The 21-year-old has banged in seven goals and grabbed 16 assists in 34 appearances for Athletic Bilbao this season across all fronts and is a player that is attracting some of the games biggest clubs.
It is no secret that Mikel Arteta is looking to add some more quality to his attack when the transfer window opens up and is keen to bolster his squad with another winger – to help cove injuries etc.
A report from Football Transfers claims the Gunners want to add the Athletic Bilbao wideman to their ranks, but they will have to move fast because PSG are also said to be interested.
And amid all the ARSENAL speculation and rumours – and speaking to Betfred, Steve McManaman assessed Nico Williams’ future. The former Liverpool midfielder said: “If I’m being completely honest, I think he’d be mad to go to Chelsea because you just don’t know what you’re going to get with them.
“They’ve got too many players, with many of them lacking gametime, and the club is all over the place. They may change the manager, so if I was Nico Williams, I’d be very wary if Chelsea were interested.
“I don’t think he would be good enough to get into Liverpool or Manchester City’s teams, but of course he can play in the Premier League and £43 million isn’t necessarily a lot of money for Premier League teams now.
“So somebody may take a chance on him because of the price tag and the type of player he is…”

The lad is amazing and under the guidance of Mikel Arteta – he could develop into a class winger – but the fact that he may not even be first choice means that his development could falter if he makes the move to the Premier League.
ARSENAL URGED TO SIGN CALAFIORI –
Massimo Ambrosini has urged Arsenal to sign Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori this summer transfer window.
The transfer window will give Mikel Arteta the chance to keep on adding to his squad over the next few months and start to add some more depth to the squad, along with a bit more quality in key areas of the pitch.
A new defender, midfielder, striker and possibly a stopper will need to get signed this summer transfer window – and with the backing of the board – Arsenal have been linked with some big time players already over the past few weeks.
But now former Seria A midfielder Ambrosini has opened up and claimed that Calafiori could be a very good signing for the Gunners – and that a move to Arsenal would be perfect for the defender.
Speaking to OLBG, Massimo Ambrosini said: “Riccardo Calafiori, from Bologna. He has had an incredible season. For me, he has everything to play at the top level and be in top Premier League squads in the future.
“He can play at centre-back, at left-back and under Thiago Motta in Bologna he started to move into midfield and even play like a striker, he has everything.
“He loves playing with the ball, Bologna were one of the first or second teams in the Italian league for possession so I think ARSENAL would be perfect for him.
“He could play in the middle or on the left, maybe in Oleksandr Zinchenko’s role. It would be perfect for him…”

Arsenal will need to sign a new defender this summer and if Calafiori is good enough – we are sure that the Gunners will make some kind of transfer offer.
However – there has been no reports that Arsenal are interested and this is probably just Ambrosini trying to get the young lad a dream move to the Emirates.
