Arteta told sign £60M star – big star told leave Arsenal – Gunners will be ‘formidable’ with 24-goal signing

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –

Paul Merson has told Arsenal they can be formidable next year – if they go out and sign Newcastle striker Alexander Isak in the summer.

Speculation has mounted over a summer move for the Swedish forward due to Newcastle’s need to balance the books for Profit and Sustainability Rules reasons, with ARSENAL reportedly interested in a deal.

It was no secret that the Gunners were keen on the man way before he made the move to Newcastle – and with Mikel Arteta keen to add a new striker to that attack – Isak suits the style of the club.

The Swedish striker has notched up 24 goals this season which has swelled his market value to a reported £100m ($126m) and Merson believes that Isak would be the perfect signing for Arsenal – even if a deal to bring the Sweden international to the Emirates Stadium is highly unlikely.

The former Arsenal favourite told SportsKeeda: “They [Newcastle] are a massive team, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of their stars moved on to win trophies. If Arsenal sign a striker like Isak, I think they go to another level.”

Isak is having a brilliant season for the Toon and his performances have been impressing alot of people.

However – he is not worth that asking price that is being talked about and clubs would be foolish to splash that amount of money that has had one very good season since his move to the Premier League.

Arsenal do need to sign a striker and Isak is the type that would suit the style of ARSENAL FC – but we cannot see Arteta sanctioning such a massive fee for one player when he needs to improve on other areas of the squad.
