Arteta told sign striker – Arsenal told defender ready for Gunners move – Arsenal can Finally sign 24-year old
Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip that we think you guys could have missed today –
Arsenal have once again been told that they need to sign a new striker before the end of the transfer window.
ARSENAL have looked solid in pre-season this year and have put in some impressive performances – with their new signings already making an impact on the squad after making the move to the Emirates.
Arsenal were so close to that Premier League title – and many believe that adding a new striker to that attack is what Mikel Arteta really needs to overtake Man City for that Premier League title, as Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz will not be enough.
Now – amid the speculation former Gunners’ skipper William Gallas has told Genting Casino. that Arsenal needs to delve into that transfer kitty and add a new striker to the squad – he said: ‘I’m sticking by my prediction of ARSENAL winning the title but they still need a top class striker that can go and score them 20 goals in the Premier League.
‘The only issue is that they haven’t signed that striker yet, despite coming so close to being champions last season
‘They got that close without having a striker who could score 20 goals, Manchester City won it because they have Erling Haaland. You have to have a player like that.
‘With Gabriel Jesus, he has injuries and isn’t consistent enough. I’m also not convinced by Kai Havertz, he scored goals but many were penalties, they need to buy a striker.
‘I hope Gabriel Jesus can be the play to fire Arsenal to the title and it’s Mikel Arteta who sees him in training everyday – but I don’t think he has what it takes to score 20 goals.
‘He didn’t do it at Manchester City and hasn’t done it at Arsenal, I’m not sure he can do it this season either.’
HANCKO CLAIM MADE –
David Hancko is the best defender in the Eredivisie and would not look out of place at Arsenal, That is the view of former Feyenoord striker Ali Boussaboun,
Hancko, who joined Feyenoord from Sparta Prague for £5.1million back in 2022, has excelled in the Netherlands over the past two years. He helped Feyenoord win the Eredivisie under Arne Slot before contributing to their KNVB Cup success last season.
Due to his impressive performances, Hancko has been linked with a move away to the Premier League – where a number of clubs are reportedly very interested in getting a deal done for the defender.
And according to former Feyenoord striker Ali Boussaboun – Hancko is the best defender in the Eredivisie and would not look out of place at ARSENAL
His agent confirmed a couple of months ago that Liverpool are also interested in the centre-back, while HITC is reporting that Aston Villa and West Ham have looked at him this summer.
And even though Arsenal have signed Riccardo Calafiori and look well set for defensive options, Hancko has been tipped to join the Gunners over he next couple of weeks.

We are sure that Hancko is a very good defender and is ready to make that next step in his career – but Arsenal do not need to sign anymore defenders before the end of the transfer window and will look to improve other areas of the pitch.
If ARSENAL did not sign Calafiori – then maybe there was a chance for Hancko to make the move to the Emirates – but the Italians signed and Arteta got the defensive signing that he was looking for.
So as we said – he may be tipped to be good enough for Arsenal – but the Gunners dont need the man.
ARSENAL CAN FINALLY SIGN STRIKER?
Arsenal could finally sign Jonathan David this summer. According to the French newspaper L’Equipe,
The Canadian forward has emerged as a potential transfer target for ARSENAL over the past few months, as the Gunners will be desperate to add a new striker to that attack with a few weeks left of the transfer window.
Ivan Toney of Brentford and Victor Osimhen of Napoli are two other players that ARSENAL are interested in – but David would represent a cheaper alternative to the other two as his valuations is only about £50 million.
Now it has been claimed that Arsenal could FINALLY sign the 24-year-old striker has turned down the chance to join Roma, despite still being keen to leave Lille.
David has been heavily linked with an exit from Stade Pierre-Mauroy for a while now following his impressive performances in Ligue 1. Despite catching the eye, the Canadian international has remained at Lille.

The Gunners will need to make sure that they sign players that can make an immediate impact – big named players that will send a message to the rest of the Premier League – David is very good.
It will be very interesting to see just who ARSENAL try and sign in the summer – but we do believe that David is not the answer to the clubs problems as he does have the potential to be a great striker.
He has the movement and energy that Mikel Arteta wants in that attack – and for the £50 million – he could be seen as a real transfer bargain.
If Arsenal seriously want to sign Jonathan David – then now is the best time to get a transfer deal done for the player – there may not be another chance for the Gunners.
