Attacker reveals why he signed with Arsenal – 8-assist star wants Gunners move – Edu told deal can be done for £62m

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –

Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has his sights on joining Arsenal during this summer’s transfer window, it has been claimed

Mikel Arteta is in the middle of building a side that he believes will go on to challenge for more than a Premier League title – and has done some very good business so far

The likes of Matt Turner – Marquinhos – Fabio Vieira – Oleksander Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus were all signed by the Spanish boss last summer – while Leandro Trossard, Jorginho and Jakub Kiwori were signed in the January window.

But now, according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Milinkovic-Savic is now very much interested in making a move to the Emirates at the end of the current season.

Savic has had another fine campaign with six goals and eight assists from 27 appearances in all competitions, and is easily considered to be one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the game

His current deal with Lazio expires in June 2024 and it is claimed that he is eyeing up a move to Arsenal.

Corriere dello Sport add that Arsenal are his ‘favourite’ destination as they have taken the ‘most convinced’ steps. The midfielder was not tempted by a move in the January window as he wants to stay and try to help Lazio this season.

Milinkovic-Savic is a top player and they come with big asking prices – but one thing we have learned last summer is that Arsenal are prepared to spend.

He would be a fantastic signing – as he is a player that has played at the very top of the game for quite a few seasons.

So, if the reports are true – the Gunners would be mad to not try and get a deal done right? He really would add some more quality to that midfield at the Emirates

Mac Allister price –

Brighton have set a price for Alexis Mac Allister – with the likes of Arsenal linked with a transfer move for the man.

Mac Allister, who joined Brighton in 2019, was one of the stars of Argentina’s World Cup squad in Qatar, playing in six consecutive games after being left out of their opening defeat to Saudi Arabia.

His performances for his country has led to alot of speculation about his future and where he will end up – with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool all reportedly interested in a possible deal for the player.

Now it has been claimed that £62million is the reported fee the club are looking for in the summer, according to Tyc Sports journalist Gaston Edul.

Amid all the speculation – Pundit Graeme Souness recently encouraged Arsenal to make a move for the man – told the Daily Mail. I bet there will be no player feeling more confident than Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister. It is very easy to focus on how fabulous Messi was for Argentina, but in the games I covered, Mac Allister was their best player.

‘The ball he played for their second goal in the final, for Angel Di Maria, was sublime. Messi put him away around the corner.

“He took one look, had a couple more touches and never looked again before squaring the most perfect pass for Di Maria to put it past Hugo Lloris. Wonderful.

‘He’s a top-four player and the big guys will be looking at him now and thinking, “We’ll have some of that”. He has proven he can play at the highest level and has already done it in the Premier League.

‘There is very little risk attached to this boy. He can create, score and works his socks off – that type of player, they are hard to find.

‘At 23, Brighton won’t be able to keep him for long and good luck trying to negotiate a new contract.

“I’m just disappointed he’s not playing for Scotland with a name like that!’

Martinelli claim –

Gabriel Martinelli admitted that his love of Arsenal meant that he did not hesitate to sign a new contract.

The Brazilian attacker has put pen to paper on a deal at Emirates Stadium, extending this time with the club and putting an end to all the transfer speculation that has been surrounding his future.

He is one of the most exciting forwards in the Premier League, and has revealed that his love for the club is the main reason why he opted to sign a new contract at the Emirates.

“I feel amazing, I’m really happy in getting the new contract,” he said. “I want to do my best for the team and for the fans as well, to give back to them and make them proud.

“I’ve said it many times, I love everything about Arsenal. I love the city, I love my teammates, I love the fans, I love the club and I’m going to try my best for this football club.”

“I remember I was so, so nervous and I couldn’t speak one word of English!” he chuckled. “It’s even worse because you couldn’t even talk to the guys and I remember that I didn’t understand anything the guys were saying to me.

“I remember when I got the shirt and I saw the badge, I was so proud and so happy. I still have that feeling when I wear it.”

“We need to win trophies,” he said when he outlined his aims for the next few years. “I think not just me but everyone in that dressing room wants to go to the games to win them, and for our fans.

“To them, I would just like to say thank you for all the support. They’ve been amazing with me this season. The atmosphere in the stadium this season has been unbelievable and I just want to say thank you. I will give 100 per cent every single day for this football club.”
