Arsenal swap deal on the cards, Arsenal told they should sign world class defender, Arteta asks for Coutinho deal, Aubameyang transfer claim made
Coutinho swap deal in the cards, Koulibaly claim made, Arteta asks for Coutinho signing, Auba claim made in Arsenal roundup…
Charlie Nicholas has claimed Arsenal ‘goal machine’ Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will move on if Real Madrid or Barcelona come calling.
The Gunners have been locked in extension talks with their club captain for some time. No deal has been done, with the prolific 31-year-old frontman entering the final 12 months of his deal as a result.
With no fresh terms agreed, it has been suggested that Arsenal may have to reluctantly sanction a sale in order to avoid losing a prized asset for nothing in the summer of 2021, and that has led to all sorts of speculation that he could be heading to La Liga.
And ahead of the FA Cup with Chelsea, which could be the last game in an Arsenal shirt for Aubameyang, The former Gunners frontman told Sky Sports “It’s vital they keep hold of him, but if Real Madrid or Barcelona were to show interest in him at his age, and he wants to go, he’ll go. We had to let the best I’ve seen in an Arsenal shirt – Thierry Henry – go because he wanted to join Barca.
“That’s the reality as this guy is a goal machine. When you look back at the wages we gave Mesut Ozil, we had to put up with Alexis Sanchez until we part-exchanged him, this guy is of the same ilk where you’re wondering if it’s worth giving him the big salary.
“Personally, I think it is as there’s very little guaranteed in football, but the guarantee he gives you when he’s fit is goals. Goals for Arsenal are the main ingredient in the way they play. Arsenal’s duty now is to fix a defence that has been weak for the past six or seven years.
“Gradually, I think Arteta will do that, but the club are still being held to ransom a little bit [over Aubameyang]. If Arsenal are to finally get this [contract] over the line, you give him what he wants, and then Aubameyang still becomes a sellable asset if he then wants to leave in a year.
“If we run it down, as we did with Aaron Ramsey, you’re just holding on to someone who isn’t entirely committed to the cause. I’m hopeful now that Aubameyang will re-sign – Arsenal, get it over the line! It would be as big a boost as winning the FA Cup. That’s how big it would be.”
Arsenal have reportedly been offered the chance to sign out-of-favour Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho this summer on a player-plus-cash deal
There has been alot of transfer speculation, and we mean alot, over the past few months about Arsenal trying to bring the Brazilian star back to the Premier League, with many reports suggesting that he was done at Barcelona and had no future with the club.
He has not made the kind of impact at the club that many at Barcelona were hoping for, and was even shipped out to Bayern Munich for a couple of seasons in hope that he could get back to his very best, but that has not happened.
And According to The Independent, Barcelona are open to the idea of a swap deal for Coutinho, involving Arsenal’s exiled midfielder Matteo Guendouzi moving in the other direction.
Guendouzi is regarded very highly with the Arsenal fans who believed that he would be a massive star for the club, but after falling out with boss Mikel Arteta and failing to impress on the pitch, his future at the club looks uncertain.
Barcelona have reportedly been keeping a close eye on the situation with Guendouzi at Arsenal and are big fans of the talents of the Frenchman, so they are willing to do a swap deal for Coutinho.
It is reported Barca want around £45.5million for the playmaker, but with Arsenal keen to offload Guendouzi, they may be prepared to offer the deal to land the Brazilian this summer, and would only have to pay around £9 million to complete a deal.
Ally McCoist claims that the likes of Arsenal should be looking to sign up Kalidou Koulibaly this summer transfer window.
Mikel Arteta will be hoping to spend some serious money in the coming months of the transfer window and add to his very exciting squad as he looks to push on and challenge for that Premier League title.
And Koulibaly has been a player that has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with reports suggesting that Napoli will allow him to depart the club if the £90 million asking price is met by October.
And McCoist has claimed the likes of Arsenal be chasing Koulibaly’s signature, saying he can make an impact similar to the one Virgil van Dijk made when the Dutchman signed for Liverpool in 2018.
“The key signing for Liverpool was Van Dijk, and I think [that position] is so important for a number of top clubs,” the Rangers legend said on the talkSPORT Breakfast.
“In that I include Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Man City definitely need to strengthen in the centre-back position and I also think Manchester United need to strengthen there.
“I think Harry Maguire has done fine, but there’s a question mark over Lindelof and you certainly need strength in depth.
“The name I keep going back to is the lad Koulibaly at Napoli, who has impressed for a long, long time now.
‘I don’t know whether there have been moves to try and get him out of Napoli, or whether he’s happy there, the big Senegalese defender.
“But I think he is the one target a lot of top Premier League clubs would and should be looking at.”
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is asking the club to land Philippe Coutinho this summer, according to reports.
Mikel Arteta is a man that knows he needs to sign some world class players over the next ten weeks of the transfer window, as this Arsenal side is not good enough to challenge for a top four spot, fans know that.
And that means that the board will need to back the Spaniard in his quest to close the gap on his rivals, and also back him when players like Coutinho come into the transfer market.
The Brazilian is being heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League with Barcelona keen to cash in, and it has been claimed that Arsenal are a preferred destination for the Brazilian maestro.
He has not had the best of times at Barcelona since he left the premier League and is eager to rediscover the form that made him one of the best players in the game, so is eager to come back.
And Mundo Deportivo write how Arteta has told club chiefs how he wants the playmaker to spearhead his side back into the Champions League, especially as he wants to add a bit more creativity to the Arsenal attack.
However, Cash remains is the biggest obstacle with Barca looking for an offer in the region of £73m, but reports have suggested that Arsenal would only be willing to pay around the £45 million mark.
If Arteta has asked for Coutinho, then Arsenal should be doing all they can to get the man, if the Spaniard is the man to take the club forward, then he needs the players to do so.
Coutinho would be a massive signing for the club.
