Stopper announces he has signed with Arsenal, Auba replacement found, Arsenal get £87 million transfer boost, Coutinho message sent

Hillside agrees deal, Aubameyang replacement found, Havertz move boost, Coutinho message sent in Arsenal news…

Arsenal have been linked to Kai Havertz and Leverkusen’s Jens Nowotny claims the German midfielder needs to make the right decision.

Now we all know that there is a lot of transfer speculation in the media suggesting that Mesut Ozil could be leaving the club at the end of the season as he wants to depart the club and possibly head back to Juventus or even make a move to Real Madrid.

And that has led to a lot of transfer speculation in the media about whom could come in and be the ideal replacement for the German, with reports in the media suggesting that Havertz is on the shopping list of Mikel Arteta

The 20-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season in the Bundesliga in 2018/19, scoring 17 goals in 34 appearances, and has been a regular in Joachim Low’s Germany squads ever since. He’s scored two goals in nine appearances in Germany’s top flight this season and his performances have also alerted some of the biggest clubs in the game right now.

Reports in the media have claimed it will cost a fortune for the likes of Arsenal to complete a deal, with a fee of £87million likely to be required to prise him away from the German giants.

Now, amid all the speculation, Nowotny has come out and claimed that Havertz needs to make the right move for his career, as the nest step is ver, very important for his development.

He told Goal and Spox: “To fulfil his potential, the next step is very, very important. He has to ask himself questions.

“Are there clubs where he can develop if there is a possible change?

“Or are there only clubs where he has to arrive and function as a finished player?

“On the one hand, you need coaches like Klopp, Guardiola or Mourinho, who can take him further.”

Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Amiens forward Serhou Guirassy as the uncertainty over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future at the club continues.

There has been so much speculation around Arsenal transfers in the summer window that fans are starting to get fed up of all the rumours, but since there is not any football going on, there isnt much news around.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are both linked with a shock move away from the Arsenal in the summer, with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid all reportedly interested in signing the pair.

And it seems that Arsenal are also eyeing up potential long-term investments, as The Daily Mail claim Amiens forward Guirassy is now a viable target after catching the eye of club scouts with four goals in 12 appearances in Ligue 1 this term.

The France U20 international would be an affordable replacement, particularly with Amiens seeking extra funds after the premature ending of Ligue 1 resulted in the club being relegated.

His agent Mark McKay has tipped his client to provide excellent value in the coming transfer market.

He stated: “A number of clubs in England and across Europe have shown an interest in Serhou after he performed so well for Amiens.

“In the current climate due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic clubs might not be able to pay huge transfer fees like they used to and in that respect Serhou could prove to be a bargain in this window.

“Serhou’s preference has always been to play in the English Premier League, but Amiens will evaluate all offers that come in for him and make a decision from there.”

Pundit Julian Laurens has told Arsenal that Willian Saliba is in the same mould as Real Madrid superstar Raphael Varane.

Arsenal beat off a number of top clubs last summer to acquire the services of Saliba, who is rated very highly across Europe, but they decided that he was not quite ready to make the move to the Emirates this season, and decided to let him stay at St-Etienne for another year.

However, there is a massive feeling that he will be a big part of the plans at Arsenal next season under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, especially as there is big rumours in the media all suggesting that Arsenal are keen to sign a few defenders to solidify that dodgy back-line they have.

The Frenchman, 18, has proved his potential after making 17 appearances for the Ligue 1 side this season, and Laurens admits, from what he has seen of Saliba, comparisons can be made with four-time Champions League winner and World Cup-winner Varane.

“I believe he is yes, he is in the mould of Varane,” Laurens told ESPN FC.

“They’ve got a lot of similarities actually, not just the youth and how they burst onto the scenes in France with their respective club – Lens obviously for Varane around 10 years ago or so and Saint-Etienne with Saliba now.

“But yeah I think there is certainly a path that Saliba will want to follow.

“I think it was the right thing to do for him and for Arsenal as well to leave him another year in France on loan at Saint-Etienne for him then to come back this summer to England and to Arsenal, having gained a lot of maturity from his season in Ligue 1, especially with the injury he had.

“He had to come back and work really hard to come back to his level so I think that will help him a lot and also because this year was very much a transition year for Arsenal.

“Not that he knew that last summer but it became a transition year with Arteta.

“So I think he will be very good for Arsenal coming into the summer, even if he’s still very young.

“I think he will be a very good signing.”

Arsenal goalkeeper James Hillson has opened up and announced he has agreed a new contract with the Gunners.

Hillson, 19, agreed his first professional contract in July having been released by Reading and has been rewarded with a new deal this month as he vies with Karl Hein for a role in Steve Bould’s Under-23 side.

Hillson started for the U23s in the first two games of the season but has seen Hein establish himself as Bould’s first-choice this season. The Estonian has not been the most convincing in the Arsenal goal during Premier League 2 games, conceding 19 times in 11 matches.

Arsenal have not confirmed the deal but posting on his Instagram Hillson wrote: “Delighted to announce that I have extended my contract with Arsenal, can’t wait to get back and continue my grind!”

It is no secret that Arsenal like to give the talented players a real chance to shine in the squad and that is why they have one of the best academies in the game right now, they do not just give up on players.

Many Arsenal fans will not have heard of Hillside, and he may not be impressing, but Arsenal have clearly seen something in the young man to sign him up to another contract at the club.

He will probably be sent out on-loan for the next few seasons as Stoppers do not start making a name for themselves until well into their twenties. But the lad is very happy to get a new contract at the club during a time when it has all been pretty bad news.

Congrats to the lad and Arsenal fans will surely be wondering whether he could be good enough to one day make an impact on the first team, only time will tell. But for now he should just enjoy the fact that he is still an Arsenal player.
