Auba names next manager?, Arsenal players ‘would love’ to work with Pochettino, Arsenal warning sent to potential new Arsenal boss

Here is a roundup of the latest Arsenal news from icfootballnews.com

Gunners hero David Seaman has claimed that the Arsenal squad would love to work with Mauricio Pochettino.

Unai Emery was brought to the club just a few seasons ago to take the Arsenal into a new era, a different way of playing from the way Arsene Wenger played the game, and was brought in to get the club challenging for that Premier League title once again.

But despite being given a decent amount of money and despite a number of backings from the Arsenal hierarchy, the Spaniard has failed to deceive over the last 12 months and he finally got the sack, which has delighted many Arsenal fans.

And that has led to a lot of speculation in the media that Pochettino could make a move to the Emirates, as reports have suggested that the Gunners hierarchy are very interested in taking the Argentine to the Emirates in the coming weeks.

And Seaman, who won two Premier League titles for the Gunners, believes getting Pochettino would be the best move for the club.

He told talkSPORT: “Yeah I’ve seen a lot of the people that have been mentioned and I was hoping someone like Patrick Vieira might get a chance of being in there.
“But it doesn’t look like that would happen.

“But the name that I keep going back to now is Poch!

“If you asked the players if they would take him now and I bet you a good 90% of them would say yes.”

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has claimed Arsenal caretaker boss Freddie Ljungberg can produce ‘something special’ as he has the club ‘in his heart’.

After a ton of months, a lot of speculation, and a number of poor results at the Emirates, the Arsenal hierarchy decided to get rid of Unai Emery and look to the future with a new manager that will be able to get the club back inside the top four and winning trophies.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for the likes of MAURICIO POCHETTINO, MAX ALLEGRI and former hero Mikel Arteta.

But Aubameyang has backed Ljungberg to turn around the club’s fortunes and make himself a contender for the job, telling the Sky Sports website: ‘He can give us something special.

‘If I’m not wrong, he was part of the Invincibles. His career speaks for itself. We will try to follow him and give the best for him. ‘Everybody is respectful of Freddie. He played for Arsenal, he knows as a player how we feel. It’s interesting to have him ‘We had only one [training] session with him, maybe two for those guys who didn’t play on Thursday.

‘We will see this week what is going to happen. I think it’s good for us. He played for Arsenal and he has this in his heart.’

Aubameyang hopes to set a positive example for his team-mates after Ljungberg handed him the captain’s armband at Norwich.

‘I try to give the guys all my positivity,’ the Gabonese added. ‘As always, I try to be an example, working hard.

‘I think the mood is good. We tried to find more confidence in winning games. We try our best.

‘Unai Emery was sacked, now we have Freddie and we’re all focused on one thing, to be back winning.

‘Today we did maybe not a perfect game but a good job and we’ll try to win the next one. ‘We have positive things to take. We didn’t play bad, we played good.’

Jamie Carragher has warned Brendan Rodgers that he could damage his reputation if he decides to leave Leicester City for Arsenal.

And that has led to speculation in the media that Arsenal are lining up an ambitious move for Rodgers, who has turned this Leicester side into one of the best in the Premier League with his top-class management skills.

But Carragher believes the former Liverpool boss should show loyalty to Leicester after he decided to leave Celtic to join the Foxes before the end of last season.

‘Well he has got a clause, I think that’s obvious now,’ Carragher told Sky Sports.

‘I think the position Brendan Rodgers is in, there’s no doubt if you’re a player or a manager you want to get right to the top.

‘At this moment Leicester sit second in the table and won the Premier League a few years ago.

‘But we’d be lying if we all said Leicester are one of the top clubs in the country. They’re not.

‘The established big six are, wherever Leicester finish in the league, they are the big ones who think they can do something in the Champions League and spend big money.

‘I don’t think it’s right if Brendan Rodgers is even thinking about moving to Arsenal right now.

‘Whether it was right or wrong, he got a lot of criticism from Celtic supporters for moving on before he finished the season, it was a tough decision for him because this job was the job everyone wanted, managers who couldn’t get a top-six job.

‘Leicester was the job everyone wanted with the players they have, the infrastructure at the club, so he got it, took that decision and accepted he’d get stick off Celtic fans.

‘I think if he moved now he’d almost get that tag of jumping ship very quickly from places. And I think he probably would deserve if it did that right now.

‘I think it’s a bit harsh what happened with Celtic but certainly now I think he’s got to look at the next 18 months and think he’s really going to do something at Leicester.

‘And maybe after those 18 months if a Tottenham, Arsenal, obviously he’s not going back to Liverpool, Manchester United could never happen, Manchester City… I don’t know, he’s going to want to go to one of those real big clubs, that’s just a fact.’
