Arsenal star encouraged to leave Arsenal, will he? Auba gets ripped into, Edu to sell Saka to buy £35m man for Arsenal and legend urges Arsenal to sign superstar free agent
Will Tierney leave Arsenal, Auba gets ripped, Edu to sell Saka and Parlour wants Aguero at Arsenal in Arsenal news roundup…
Ray Parlour says he would be happy if Arsenal signs Sergio Aguero in the summer transfer window now it has been confirmed he will be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season.
Alexandre Lacazette has scored thirteen goals in all competitions for Arsenal this season, but many reports in the media believe that he is not part of the long-term plans at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta.
That has led to speculation in the media that Arsenal may be interested in signing Aguero in the transfer window now that it has been confirmed that he will be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season after failing to agree a new contract with the club.
And Parlour reckons that Arsenal might make good use of Aguero’s talents even though he isn’t getting any younger, but he also admits that Mikel Arteta and Edu will decide if they want him or not.
Asked whether he would welcome a move for Aguero, Parlour WAS QUOTED: ‘Absolutely, yeah! I would for a couple of years.
‘Someone with Aguero’s ability would be brilliant for Arsenal. Whether [Alexandre] Lacazette will stay next season I don’t know, I think he might be on his way in the summer.
‘So Arsenal definitely need a striker. Whether it’s going to be Aguero or will they look a little bit younger and try to develop a player, I don’t know. That’s what Arteta and Edu will have to do.
‘They’ll have to sit down and say: “Right, where are we going?” They did it with David Luiz, they got him from Chelsea late in his career and maybe they’ll do the same with Aguero.’
Jermaine Pennant has slammed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who he claims isn’t a leader for Arsenal on or off the field.
Aubameyang was the last big transfer signing that club legend Arsene Wenger made at the club, and since then, the Gaon hitman has fully established himself as one of the most deadly attackers in the Premier League.
However, after signing that massive £350,000-a-week contract in the summer, he has looked nothing like the player he has been over the past few seasons and he has been slated for his performances on the pitch.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID?
Former Arsenal winger Pennant now claims that he only got the captain’s role on performances alone, but doesn’t provide anything as the man wearing the armband on or off the pitch.
“Aubameyang got the armband on his performances in previous seasons, due to scoring a lot of goals and being a fan favourite,” he told talkSPORT.
“With the struggles Arsenal are going through, I feel that’s why he was given the captaincy, not because he’s a leader off the pitch.
“I don’t think he’s a leader on the pitch either. Not only is he not scoring, but he’s turning up late, he’s getting dropped – as a captain you shouldn’t be doing that.
“I would always throw Steven Gerrard into this conversation, because he led by example and you would never see him turn up late, you would never see him getting dropped for any misdemeanours on the field or off the field.”
Arsenal director Edu could be forced into cashing in on Bukayo Saka this summer in order to fund approaches for the likes of Martin Odegaard.
Saka has been one of the very best and most exciting players that Mikel Arteta has been able to choose from this season and many fans believe he will go on to become one of the very best wingers in world football.
The versatile 19-year-old has chipped in with five goals and three assists, establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most exciting young players in the process, but with Arsenal needing financial reinforcement in order to meet Arteta’s transfer aims, there is a chance that he could be moved on during the summer months.
If the Gunners fail to achieve Champions League qualification, a prospect that appears to be highly likely with just eight games until the end of the season, they would come under pressure to sell their high-value stars, according to The Times.
Mikel Arteta knows that he needs to add some more quality to that Arsenal side and although he has become a massive fan of Saka, and would like to keep hold of the player, the right offer would tempt the board into letting him go, the reports claim.
It remains to be seen if Saka will be forced out despite Arteta’s wishes, with Arsenal’s precarious financial situation threatening to pour cold water on any hopes of a summer influx of top talent.
However, there will surely be some kind of outroar if the club did decide to get rid of one of the most exciting players in the Premier League right now, it would be a shock to see him get sold in the summer
Rangers legend Kris Boyd believes Kieran Tierney is operating at a level that suggests he is too good for Arsenal and has encouraged the left-back to leave the London giants, but would he go?
Tierney joined the Gunners while he was still recovering from a hernia operation and after cementing his place in the team a dislocated shoulder meant he had to bide his time before establishing his place in Mikel Arteta’s side.
He has easily become one of the most important players in the side, with many Arsenal fans loving the quality that he brings to that left-side of the defence, and after impressing Boyd while on International duty, the Rangers legend has sent a shocking message the Gunners star.
WHAT DID HE ACTUALLY SAY?
‘I just think his energy, his drive, his determination and his leadership skills as well,’ Boyd told Sky Sports when asked for his assessment of his compatriot’s best qualities.
‘For or all Arsenal are a big club I think Kieran Tierney’s got another move in him. I think he’s got another move to one of Europe’s biggest.
‘I think everything he does his work rate and determination, a lot of people have got that, but he’s also go the quality when he gets into those areas.
‘He’s a fantastic player. The whole Celtic thing, he couldn’t turn it down, it was an opportunity to go to a huge club in Arsenal. Yes, he was injured at the start and it’s taken him a little while to get going.
‘But once he’s got himself in the team he’s performed at a level where I don’t think there’s many left-sided players in the English Premier League that perform like that and for that reason I think he can go again. I really do think he can go again to one of the bigger ones.’
ARSENAL FANS WILL NOT BE HAPPY WITH THIS RIGHT? but we believe it would take something special for him to leave the Emirates right now
