Arsenal told they need to sell Auba, Arsenal told to sign Tielemans and Gunners encouraged to sign Watkins in Arsenal roundup…

Paddy Kenny believes Arsenal needs to offload Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before they can sign Dusan Vlahovic

With many reports in the media suggesting that Mikel Arteta is keen on a new striker, there has been alot of rumours in the media suggesting that Vlahovic is the Gunners number one transfer target.

The big man is one of the most highly-rated strikers in Europe right now after taking Seria A by storm, and recent reports have suggested that the Gunners are ready to pay £58 million to wrap up a transfer deal

But amid all the speculation that Arsenal are keen on signing the big striker, Kenny has opened up and told the board that they need to offload Aubameyang before they can sign Vlahovic.

Aubameyang has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons ever since he signed that massive £350,000-a-week contract last summer, and his performances on the pitch this season have been awful, with his actions off the pitch too also meaning that he was stripped of the captaincy.

He tells Football Insider: “If Arsenal are going to make this big Vlahovic signing then Aubameyang is going to have to go in one form or another.

“I don’t think Vlahovic comes in unless Aubameyang leaves.”

There has been alot said about Auba, but Arsenal made the mistake giving him that massive contract as they can no longer get him off the books, nobody wants to pay his massive wages.

Vlahovic is a very good striker that still has alot to prove in the game, but he is scoring for run and is a top striker, so he could be a man that can lead Arsenal back to the top.

If Auba is the problem and that is why Arsenal cannot get a transfer deal done, whos fault is that?

Noel Whelan has urged the Arsenal board to make a move to try and sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City.

Tielemans has developed into one of the best and most creative players in the Premier League since his move to Leicester City just a few years ago, and he really has become a sought after player.

Mikel Arteta is a man that knows that this current crop of Arsenal players are not good enough to challenge for that Premier league title, and considering that is where he wants to be, he needs to add some players to that squad that will make a difference.

He seems to be on his way out of Leicester as he approaches the last season of his current deal, and there has been ALOT of talk in the media that the Gunners are willing to offer him a move to the Emirates.

And amid all that speculation, Ex-Leeds United man, Noel Whelan has enjoyed watching him play and believes the former AS Monaco man is tailor-made for Arsenal’s style of play.

He tells Football Insider: “He comes up with some fantastic goals, he works really hard, he’s got an eye for a pass.

“He’s also at a really good age, as well. He is only just approaching the best years of his career.

“I very much doubt that it will only be Arsenal in for him. But at the same time, he would fit straight into that style of play under Mikel Arteta.

“He certainly wouldn’t look out of place at a club like Arsenal – he’s a fantastic player and I can definitely see that happening.”

Tielemans is worth around £50 million, which is easily in the budget of Arsenal. But we all know that the Gunners board like to wait, which has meant they have missed out on many players in previous windows.

If they really want Tielemans, and we mean REALLY WANT, then they need to get a deal done.

Paul Merson has urged Arsenal to take advantage of the fact that Aston Villa have signed Philippe Coutinho by making a move to land Ollie Watkin, with reports they have already opened up transfer talks.

Centre-forwards Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are into the final six months of their contracts at the Emirates Stadium whilst fellow-frontman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future at the club remains in doubt.

That has led to many reports in the media that Arsenal will be in need of adding a striker to the squad over the next few weeks in order to bolster their chances of getting back inside that top four spot.

And according to recent reports onESPN, head coach Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of Watkins, with the Spaniard reportedly impressed by the Villa star’s versatility to play across the frontline

The reports suggest that Arsenal have already contacted the Villians about a possible deal, but so far, they have been knocked back in their quest

But after Villa completed a transfer deal for Coutinho, Merson believes his arrival at Villa Park could open the door for an attacker to leave the club.: “Aston Villa are crying out for a superstar,” Merson told Sky Sports (via HITC). “They have got one (Coutinho). You don’t lose talent. You can’t teach that. That’s not taught.

“This lad carried Liverpool, at times. It’s the way Steven Gerrard plays him, let teams worry about him, rather him having to track back some average player back to his own box.

“But, if I was Arsenal now, I would go and steam in to try and get Watkins. If I was Arsenal.”

Look, if Arsenal did manage to get Watkins, it would be a great signing for the club, But we believe that he is going nowhere anytime soon.
