The feeling in the media is that Aubameyang is not happy with the direction of the club, as he had hoped the club would be challenging for the Premier League title and playing Champions League football on a yearly basis, which has not happened.
And with reports suggesting that the likes of Barcelona or Inter Milan are ready to pay in excess of £70 million to try and secure a deal for Aubameyang, the Gunners have already, reportedly, been eyeing up possible replacements for the Gabon ace, with a number of top forwards linked with the club.

Tottenham may have been at home and the clear favourites to win this cup match, but Norwich were the better team throughout the 90 mins and should have walked away winners during normal time, but they simply couldn’t find another goal, meaning the tie went to Penalties.
And Cantwell was among Daniel Farke’s players who hit the target from the penalty spot and his celebration caught the eye of Gunners fans as he put his finger to his lips in a shushing gesture towards the Tottenham fans behind the goal.

Arsenal fans have urged Mikel Arteta to sign defender Pablo Mari on a permanent basis after his performance against Portsmouth.
Arsenal once again dominated the January transfer window about possible transfers, as there was a number of high-profile players linked with a mega money move to the Emirates by the 31st.
However, despite all the speculation and despite all the rumours, there were only two signings made by Mikel Arteta and one of them was Mari, who has been playing over in the Brazilian Leagues with Flamengo for the last few seasons.
Many have doubted whether or not he will be able to thrive in the Premier League with Arsenal, but there have been some strange reports in the media over the past few days which have claimed that Arsenal are already thinking about handing the defender a permanent move to the club after just one performance.
He caught the eye at the back as Arsenal progressed to the FA Cup quarter-finals thanks to Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Eddie Nketiah goals either side of the half-time break, and Arsenal supporters took to Twitter during the match to beg Arteta and the club to tie up a permanent deal for Mari, whose loan deal contains an option to keep him on a full-time basis.
“Mari is class, I’ve seen enough. Sign him permanently,” wrote one fan.
“Can we sign Mari permanently already please????” a second asked.
“Going to be honest, although it’s only Portsmouth, Pablo Mari is looking incredible. So calm and composed and ain’t scared of a tackle. Sign him up!” a third commented.
“Pablo Mari looks DEEEEcent!!! Sign him up and play him in the prem,” another said.
Arsenal have been tipped to make a move for Raul Jimenez if Alexandre Lacazette leaves the club at the end of the season.
The French forward, 28, has just over two years left on his current contract at the Emirates having joined in a £52million deal from Lyon in 2017, but it’s believed he will be allowed to leave the Gunners should they fail to break back into Europe’s top competition for 2020-21.
Arsenal are currently in a battle to get back inside the top four spots and get Champions League football, but have had an inconsistent season so far, so many have already begun to speculate about the players that could leave the club in order to play Champions League football and challenge for some silverware.
If Lacazette enters the final six months of his contract, he would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement and leave for nothing, and there has been some shock reports in the media over the past few months which have suggested that he has a gentlemans agreement to leave, something he has denied on many occasions.
And now former Chelsea star Craig Burley has suggested that the Arsenal could make a move for Jimenez in the summer, if Lacazette does leave, SPEAKING ON ESPN, HE SAID: , Burley urged the Gunners to snap up the Wolves talisman.
“What will Raul Jimenez give you? Experience but still at a good age, runs the channels, physical in the air, works hard when he’s not got the ball and scores goals,” he said.
“Bare in mind they have Aubameyang and hopefully won’t lose him.
“But Lacazette’s frustrations are out there about not playing, he could go elsewhere.
“If you had Aubameyang on the left and a big physical presence through the middle, that would make sense to me. I’m sure there are other options there for Arteta, but this guy… Arsenal sides through the years have been a bit soft, this guy’s not soft.
“He’s a physical player who scores goals in the Premier League. I’d have him in a heartbeat and I think Arteta would as well.
“He’s got a bit extra, he scores goals and he’s a winner. Good player.”
Pep Guardiola has told the likes of Arsenal that long-term target Houssem Aouar ‘is the real deal’
After being nurtured by the club’s famous academy — which has been responsible for producing some of Europe’s current top players including Alexandre Lacazette, Karim Benzema, and Corentin Tolisso — Aoaur started to realize the value of his ability, and n 2015, aged 17, he made his first appearance for Lyon B.
In the 2017-2018 season, in the absence of Tolisso who had just moved to Bayern Munich, he made 31 starts in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League, scoring seven goals and producing six assists — and the following season, his stock further increased as he made 44 appearances, scored seven goals, and made seven assists.
With Arsenal seeking to add some much needed quality to their midfield and there willingness to give the talents in the game a chance to sign, reports have suggested that Mikel Arteta has been impressed with Aouar this season and is ready to beat the likes of Juventus and Chelsea to a summer deal.
And amid all the transfer speculation surrounding the young man, City boss Guardiola did not hold back on the lad, telling the DAILY STAR:“He is incredible,”
“He’s always very calm with the ball at his feet, with an excellent technical quality.”
Despite the speculation, Aouar says he’s not considering his next move.
“I am not really thinking about it, I am more thinking about the weeks to come,” Aouar explained.
“They are going to be important for Lyon and for us. I have a fair amount to still bring to the team.
“I am trying not to pollute my mind and stay concentrated on the pitch.”
