£200,000-a-week superstar told he needs to get Arsenal deal done, Fans told world cup winner ‘determined’ to be a Gunner, would fans welcome £77 million Brazilian?
Guys here is a roundup of the latest Arsenal news, gossip and transfer talk over the past 24 hours from icfootballnews.com
Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has opened up and sensationally claimed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang needs to leave Arsenal in the summer.
Publicly, Aubameyang has maintained he is content with life at Arsenal but with talks over a contract extension having stalled Barcelona are likely to test the waters again come the summer, but there is a feeling that this could be his last season at the Emirates.
The feeling in the media is that Aubameyang is not happy with the direction of the club, as he had hoped the club would be challenging for the Premier League title and playing Champions League football on a yearly basis, which has not happened.
And with reports suggesting that the likes of Barcelona or Inter Milan are ready to pay in excess of £70 million to try and secure a deal for Aubameyang, the Gunners have already, reportedly, been eyeing up possible replacements for the Gabon ace, with a number of top forwards linked with the club.
Now Cole has claimed that AUbameyang may need to leave the club at the end of the season, he told BT Sport: “If I’m Aubameyang I’d be looking out the door because he’s a player that needs to be playing at the very, very top level. He needs to be playing in the Champions League.
“He’s not played enough years in the Champions League to cement himself as a top, top player, which is what he actually is because his stats and his numbers add up with anyone.”
Reports have revealed that German star Mesut Ozil is determined to be an Arsenal player in the summer and beyond.
Mesut Ozil is one of the Gunners biggest players and one of the best number tens in world football, when he is on top form. But he has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past 12 months as his performances in an Arsenal shirt have not matched the wages he was given under Arsene Wenger.
And that has led to a lot of transfer speculation in the media over the past few weeks that he could actually leave the club, despite claims from the German himself that he will be seeing out his contract at the Emirates, meaning that the Gunners will need to find an adequate replacement for the German star.
However, Mohammed Elneny who is currently turning out for Besiktas, has revealed that he is in close contact with Ozil and the German always teases him with Fenerbahce’s songs, prompting the on-loan Gunners ace to claim that Ozil is actually interested in leaving the club at the end of the season.
He told Bein Sports Turkey: “Mesut really loves Fenerbahce. He’s always speaking about the club and the fans.
“If you ask me, I think he could come to Fenerbahce. He’s always trying to annoy me by singing Fenerbahce chants.”
However, that is not the case as Ozil is determined to see out his Arsenal contract and remain at the “top level” for the next four years.
The £350,000-a-week winger’s deal ends in 2021 with the club yet to open talks with the German 2014 World Cup winner over an extension, but speaking to I News, the former Real Madrid ace’s representative Dr Erkut Sogut said: “At the moment, we don’t even talk about it, because he still has one-and-a-half-years left.
“He still has 15 months to go. Until then, he will stay at Arsenal, for sure.
“He will stay until the end of his contract. There’s no chance he’ll leave.”
Arsenal may be able to seal a deal for Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho in the summer, but would he be welcome at the Emirates?
There has been a lot of speculation in the media that Mesut Ozil could be leaving the club in the next couple of windows after failing to impress boss Mikel Arteta, meaning the Gunners will need to add a ready-made creative superstar to the club like Coutinho.
Coutinho made a name for himself at Liverpool as one of the best creative midfielders in the game and Barcelona were determined to acquire his services as the long-term replacement for Andreas Iniesta, but his move to the Camp Nou has not gone down as well as many had hoped and after the arrival of Antoine Griezmann, and he was ultimately shipped out to Bayern on a two-year loan deal.
The Bundesliga champions can secure Coutinho’s signature for £102million at the end of the current campaign, and it seemed that he was keen to stay put, but CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has publicly criticised Coutinho for his inconsistent displays and has admitted that Bayern is still unsure whether to trigger an option to make his season-long loan spell permanent.
“He has played well in some games. Sometimes he gives the impression that he’s inhibited,” Rummenigge told Bild.
“Everyone tries to support him. We must hope that he will become an important factor in the decisive weeks to come.”
Look, There is no doubt that Mesut Ozil needs to leave Arsenal at the end of the season and seek pastures new, for himself and the club, so if there is a chance for Arsenal to swoop in and offer Coutinho a move to the Emirates, then they need to get a deal done.
If there is a chance to get a deal done for Coutinho, then £77 million will be a bargain price for the Brazilian, AND SURELY FANS WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM SIGNED.
The Gunners are crying out for a player like Coutinho, and have been fore many seasons, there will be a lot of interest in the summer when he comes onto the market and as we said, he would be a great buy for the Arsenal
