Well said Pierre! Striker Aubameyang opens up and slams Arsenal team-mates!
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has slammed his own team-mates after Arsenal let a 2 goal lead slip against Watford at the weekend.
A typically expert finish from Aubameyang had Arsenal ahead (21), and the Gabon striker made it 2-0 shortly after with a simple finish from a fine Gunners move (32).
Watford halved the deficit just after the break through Tom Cleverley as Sokratis was caught playing out from the back, and Arsenal shot themselves in the foot again as David Luiz tripped sub Roberto Pereyra in the area, and he duly dispatched the penalty.
And Arsenal’s free-scoring forward Aubameyang was furious when speaking to French television network CANAL+ afterwards.
“Obviously we didn’t expect that,” he said of the comeback.
”We knew that they were going to try and come back with good intentions, of the kind they demonstrated in the 2nd half.
“Sadly, we were not able to deal with them well.
“I feel like we are literally giving goals to the opposition, it is up to us to progress in that respect.
“I don’t want to accuse anyone, you could say that us the attackers could have killed the game off and score a third goal, so I am not going to say it is someone’s fault.
“It is a shame to concede goals like we did.
“I think it affects us (to lose Alexandre Lacazette for a few weeks). We know very well that he brings us so much in these sorts of games.”
Unai Emery done some wonderful transfer business in the summer to help improve his attack, but he has shot himself in the foot this season after failing to sign the type of quality that would help improve the back-line.
Once again the defence has cost the Gunners an easy three points, especially after being 2-0 up and if this continues throughout the rest of the season, well then Emery will have no one to blame if he gets the sack.
Gunners fans will not take this kind of results for much longer.
