Will Arsenal fans be happy with Brazilian deal as Arteta to trigger clause, will Gunners complete £36 million deal?, Should Arsenal hijack Chelsea’s £85 million move for Bundesliga star?,
Guys here is the latest Arsenal news, gossip and transfer news from icfootballnews that we think you may enjoy
Arsenal are ready to trigger the extension clause in ex-Chelsea centre-back David Luiz’s contract to keep him at the Emirates, but does he deserve the deal?
Luiz made the shock decision in the summer transfer window to leave Chelsea and make the shock move to the Emirates, with reports suggesting that he fell out with the new Blues boss Frank Lampard.
The Brazilian may not have helped the defensive issues this season, with the club conceding 51 goals, but the centre-back has emerged as a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s team, and the Spanish boss is keen to make sure that the future of Luiz is sorted out sooner rather than later.
The Daily Express have claimed that Arsenal are keen to wrap up a deal for the Brazilian and keep him at the Emirates until the end of 2021, as Arteta wants to keep this squad together and add a little bit more in the transfer windows.
Luiz admitted he struggled to cope with mixed emotions in the immediate aftermath of his £8million arrival last summer, telling the club website: “I decided to leave Chelsea before I talked to Arsenal but when they came in for me two days later I said ‘OK, let’s do it’.
“But for the first three days with Arsenal it was not easy for me to digest all the emotions because everyone knows my history and connection with Chelsea was so massive.
“I was already missing everyone at Chelsea and every text message I received was from people saying ‘come back, we are here for you’.
“Those made it difficult because the heart is the most important thing but after that I was able to move on in a professional way.
“I started to adapt and now I am so happy with Arsenal. I want to do big things here.”
The signing of Luiz was a massive shock to most of the Premier League as many felt he would play a big part in the Chelsea side this season, but the move happened and Arsenal fans have had to see the Brazilian make numerous mistakes.
He has done well under Arteta, that is a fact, but look, the Arsenal need to get this defence sorted out by letting players leave and then bringing in replacements, keeping Luiz in the squad will just cause all sorts of complications and he should not get the contract, he is too unreliable, that is what we believe.
Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their interest in Leon Bailey, but should they hijack Chelsea’s move?
here has been alot of speculation in the media suggesting that Chelsea are willing to splash around £85 million in the summer to try and acquire the services of Bailey, who has become one of the most exciting wingers in the Bundesliga over the last few seasons.
Frank Lampard is keen to bolsters his squad at the end of the season and improve the side enough to get back challenging for that Premier League title, and also as a possible replacement for the likes of Willian and Pedro. who have been tipped to leave the club at the end of the season.
However, despite all the interest shown in the young man from the likes of Bayern and Chelsea, and the non-interest shown in the player by the Gunners, The German side are hoping that Mikel Arteta gets the funds and shows some kind of interest,
Arteta is known to be keen to add another winger to the side in the coming windows, especially as record-signing Leon Bailey has not yet shown the capabilities to match that massive £72 million price tag that Arsenal paid to land his services.
And the Express claim that the German club’s preference is to sell their prized asset to an English side over losing another player to Bayern Munich, with the report adding that has opened the door for Arsenal to compete with Chelsea for Bailey, but only on the condition that they sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
However, with the Gunners notorious for not spending the kind of money it would take to land the likes of Bailey and then a few more players, the Likes of Chelsea and Bayern still lead the chase to land the gifted and speedy Jamaican.
Arsenal do need to add something different to their attack and Bailey is certainly that, but they spent £72 million on Nicolas Pepe last summer and looked what happened! If They are going to spend that kind of money on a player, then why not spend it on players like Philippe Coutinho? who is going for £77 million in the summer.
Bailey is decent, but not ready for the Premier League just yet.
Arsenal fans have urged the club to stump up £36 million and sign Dani Ceballos on a permanent deal, but should they?
After months and month and months of transfer speculation during the summer transfer window, the Gunners finally managed to finalise a try-before-they officially buy deal for the Spaniard, as Emery was desperate to add another midfielder to the side after Aaron Ramsey departed the club.
Ceballos has made 24 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal and recently forced his way back into Mikel Arteta’s plans after a slow start under the new head coach, but there is a feeling that the club have not yet decided on whether or not they will hand him a permanent move to London.
Now, amid their decision making, the Daily Mirror have claimed Real Madrid are demanding £36million for the eight-cap Spain international, and that has prompted AFTV to ask fans on Twitter whether Ceballos should be signed on a permanent basis for the fee.
“Absolutely…. He’s the ideal replacement for Santi Carzola,” one replied.
“Yes,” a second commented.
“Of course,” a third wrote.
“Yes, I love his mentality. Get busy kind of guy,” a fourth chimed in with.
“Sign him now please,” demanded a fifth.
“They need to sign him up!” added another.
While a final fan said: “It’s actually a bargain at that price.”
Speaking last month, Arteta said on Sky Sports: “We haven’t had any discussions about it.
“I’m really happy with Dani and what he’s bringing to the team right now.
“It took him a while after his injury to get to the level that he has and that I’ve seen in the past.
“He’s performing much better now and that’s why he’s playing much more games.”
Look, There is no doubt that fans want this deal to happen in the summer and they want the club ti sign up Ceballos, who has the potential. But that good start to the season is over and he has not been that impressive under Arteta, which begs the question, why keep him?
His stats arent that great, he doesnt score of assist on a regular basis and considering he would be a big part of that midfield, he is not the ideal Cazorla replacement.
Spending £36 million on him is not alot of money, but right now, he has not earned a permanent move to the club.
