Manchester United have been told they will have to splash around £110 million to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old has been become one of the most coveted centre-backs in world football since joining Napoli in 2014 and has been heavily tipped to leave Napoli at the end of the season and make the move to the Premier League, where both Manchester United and Chelsea are keen on a deal.

But according to the Sunday Express, the Serie A club’s president Aurelio de Laurentiis is demanding a world-record fee for a defender and has told any chasing suitor that they will need to splash around £110 million to secure a deal for the Senegalese powerhouse.
It is believed the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea are also interested in Koulibaly and Napoli are trying to force a summer battle in a bid to take advantage of the crazy money that he being spent in football right now.
It is no secret that Koulibaly has all the qualities of a world class defender and it is easy to see just why he is wanted, but if United do want to get back to the very top of the game and challenge for the Premier League title once more then they need to acquire a player of this mans ability.
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has claimed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs Paul Pogba to rediscover his form for the club.
Pogba has been instrumental for Solskjaer in his quest to reach the Champions League final and get back into that coveted top-four spot and Champions League football next season, but over the past few weeks the French world cup winner has looked off as his performance levels have dipped.
Transfer speculation has surrounded Pogba over the past weeks and he has done nothing to dampen all the speculation by suggesting that he would be open to a big money move to Real Madrid at the end of the season, to link-up with French icon Zinedine Zidane.
The France international scored nine goals in Solskjaer’s first 12 games in charge in all competitions, but he has only one goal in his last nine outings and Scholes says Pogba needs to get back to the form early in Solskjaer’s reign.
“I want to see the Paul Pogba that started when Ole came in,” Scholes said.
“His first six or seven games, I’ll stretch that to 10, 11 games.
“The quality of him, the assists, the goals he scored were fantastic. It just seems like the last few weeks have been a bit of a struggle for him.
“He seems to be slipping into his old ways a little bit. “Taking too many touches on the ball, not passing and he needs to get back to it.
“We know what quality this player has, he’s such a powerful player. He can strike a ball, he can make a goal, he can score goals.
“He’s what we need, he’s what Manchester United need in this team, which is real quality.”
