American-born striker announces ‘why he has chose’ to complete Arsenal transfer move
Arsenal ace Folarin Balogun has revealed why he chose to join French side Reims on loan this summer window
Balogun joined the Gunners way back in 2012 and showcased a very exciting ability to score goals all through the youth ranks at the Emirates
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Championship side Middlesborough, where he made 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and assisting three times.
There was a feeling in the media that he would be given a shot in that Arsenal side this season – especially with the club lacking striker depth – but in the end the decision was made for him to go out on loan once again this season
And after an impressive start over at Reims – Balogun has opened up and announced just why he has made the decision to join the French side on loan until the end of the season – He told L’Union: “My goals are to help the team finish higher than they did last season.
“And on a more personal level, I want to improve as a player.
“I have liked the philosophy of the club, to play young people while remaining competitive.
“After talking about it with my family, we decided that it would be the right choice for the rest of my career.”

The lad is clearly very talented and one that has been at Arsenal for a very long time – but at the end of the day – he will never get the chances he wants in that Gunners first team
He will always be a back-up if he stays at the Emirates – so this was a very good move for him to make
He will see what the French League is all about – and if he continues to impress – there will surely be a few clubs chasing him when his loan finishes
