Emery vs Ole for superstar! Barcelona ‘looking to sell’ £60m Arsenal and Manchester United target Umtiti
Reports have claimed Barcelona are willing to sell Arsenal and Manchester United target Samuel Umtiti in the summer transfer window.
Umtiti signed for Barcelona way back in 2016 and has become an integral part of the Spaniards side over the past few seasons, but there has been a lot of speculation that he could be sold to help finance a move for Ajax superstar defender Matthijs De Ligt.
De Ligt is one of the most highly-regarded defenders in world football and has a number of top clubs chasing a possible deal, but it is believed that he would prefer a move to the Spanish Champions rather than a move to the Premier League or PSG.
And according to reports on the Calciomercato website, Barcelona are willing to cash in on the £21.4 million buy at the end of the season, with both the Gunners and United interested on trying to secure a deal.
Gunners boss Unai Emery will reportedly been given the funds to land a few ‘superstar’ names in the summer window, and is keen to add a defender of the quality and standing of Umtiti, while United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows that improving the back-line before the start of next season is a must if they are to challenge for the Premier League title once aganin.
Could Arsenal or United complete a deal for Umtiti?
If Barcelona are willing to sell the powerhouse then the right offer will get this transfer deal done for Arsenal or United, but both need to be in the Champions League to wrap up any deal as the defender has ambitions to win the biggest trophies on a regular basis.
De Ligt seems to be the future of Barcelona and that means they need space in the squad, so £50-60 million for Umtiti seems to be the amount that would convince Barcelona into definitely selling this summer.
