Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic sends Manchester United message about possible £80 million Coman deal
Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic says they would never have allowed Kinglsey Coman to join Manchester United in the summer.
It was no secret that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was looking to spend some money in the transfer window and try to buy the type of players it will take to get this side challenging for that Premier League title.
And there was also big speculation in the media that Jadon Sancho is the clubs number one transfer target ahead of the window, as they have been keeping an eye on his performances all season.
But we all know that Borussia Dortmund did not want to let one of their very best players leave on the cheap and demanded a massive £100 million from any club that want to nail down the services of Sancho, a fee that put off Manchester United.
And that led to speculation that United were then in talks with Bayern about a possible deal for Coman, who is easily regarded as one of the most exciting right wingers in the game right now, and a great alternative to Sancho.
However, despite all the reports that suggested talks had been opened, Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has claimed that he was never going to let Coman leave and join Manchester United
“There was nothing, and we wouldn’t have looked into it either. His goal in the Champions League final should explain enough why we are relying on him wholeheartedly,” the Allianz Arena chief told Sport Bild .
Look, at the end of the day, United failed to get any real big transfer deals done, and that is their own fault as they focused on trying to sign Sancho far too much.
However, the Coman rumour was a shock and now it all makes sense why a deal never happened.
