Dietmar Hamann has questioned Bayern Munich’s decision to buy Harry Kane last summer and claimed the Chelsea target needs to be sold.

After years of transfer speculation and rumours – Harry Kane decided to ditch the Premier League and make the move to the Bundesliga – in hope that he could finally end his wait for that first big trophy.

However, things did not go as planned for the Bavarian club as they failed to win a trophy this season for the first time in 12 years, and were recently knocked out of the Champions League by Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Now Hamann has raised questions about the Bundesliga giants’ decision to break the bank for Kane and even encourage them to part ways with the star forward after just one season.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the 50-year-old said: “How many titles have they won? Bayern scored more goals without Kane last year than they have now. He also had his price. That’s a very high salary and it cost over 100 million. If [Mathys] Tel had played up front, would they necessarily be in a worse position? I don’t blame him at all for it being his fault – of course not.”

“But the club sold a lot of jerseys. That was the star purchase. The club would admit that it was a mistake in quotation marks – you can argue about whether it was a mistake. I would definitely ask the question internally: Are you better positioned with 100 million in the bank and him back on the island?”

Kane has scored a whopping 44 goals in 45 matches across all competitions for the club and it is a massive shock to see that he will not any trophies this season with Bayern.

We have no idea why Hamann would say that considering Kane has been special for the German side this season – but if he does come onto the market – we are sure that CHELSEA will once again reignite their interest in the goal-scorer
