Ajax open up and tell Manchester United Van de Beek has agreement o leave this summer
Manchester United have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.
Donny Van De Beek made a massive impact in Europe last season when he helped Ajax regain the League title for a good few years, and also helped the Dutch giants reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, impressing everyone with their attacking football.
That led to speculation in the media suggesting that Donny Van De Beek would be the latest name to leave the club when the next transfer window opens up, with reports claiming that Madrid had already swooped in and agreed a fee with Ajax about a deal for Beek, which meant that United may miss out on another target.
Manchester United United have previously had a bid of just under £40m turned down, and could now be tempted to go back in and meet the Dutch champions’ demands, especially as
Manager Erik ten Hag revealed there is an agreement in place between the player and the Dutch club that he can leave this summer.
Ten Hag said on Sky Sports: “Based on their performance and ambition, a number of our players also want to make the move abroad.
“Agreements have been made with Andre Onana, Donny van de Beek and Nicolas Tagliafico, but it remains to be seen whether the market is indeed breaking loose.
“For Onana and Van de Beek, another year of Ajax could certainly be an option, for Tagliafico it is slightly different because of his age.”
Van De Beek is a top-class player that would be a great signing for United if they were able to beat off Madrid and bring him to the Premier League.
