Free agent on way to Arsenal? Gunners ready shock transfer swap, Italian announces £25m man wants to join Arsenal and Arteta plots £35 million move for midfielder
Arsenal still keen on Bertrand, Gunners ready to do Tripper-Bellerin swap deal, Arteta wants Neves and Onana wants Arsenal move in Arsenal roundup…
Arsenal are still interested in bringing free agent Ryan Bertrand to the club over the summer window.
It is no secret that Arsenal are in the market for a new left-back during the summer transfer window as they need to add a viable option to the squad to help cover the brilliant Keran Tierney.
Cedric Soares has been used there on a number of occasions this season by Mikel Arteta before the Spanish boss opted to give Granit Xhaka a go at playing in that position, which never really worked out.
The 31-year-old confirmed his decision to leave Southampton in a lengthy statement on his social media pages last month, and there is alot of interest in his services having proven himself to be one of the best in the Premier League.
And reports on the Daily Express website have claimed that Arsenal remain very keen to try and bring him to the Emirates.
Leicester City are also keen on Bertrand – and with Europa League football to offer might be a more attractive destination, especially since Christian Fuchs’ departure.
The fact that Bertrand is on the market for nothing is something that Arsenal should take full advantage of as he is one of the best in the Premier League, so even though they are not in Europe, Arsenal would be a good move for the lad.
The Gunners will not have alot of money to splash in the transfer window, so they will need to add a few quality bargains to get back into those top four spots
Ajax star Andre Onana wants to join Arsenal in the summer transfer window, Gunners fans have been told
Despite having Bernd Leno at the club, there has been alot of speculation in the media that Mikel Arteta still wants to add another stopper to the squad in the transfer window, and Onana is on the list.
Onana was banned from football for 12 months in February after the banned substance furosemide had been found in his urine sample, and The 25-year-old has insisted it was human error, saying he mistook his wife’s prescription medication for aspirin because of the “almost identical” packaging.
Onana has appealed his ban and is waiting for the outcome, but it is understood that Arsenal remain interested in buying the goalkeeper for a knockdown price irrespective of the outcome of the case
Now, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners are waiting on the court’s decision regarding Onana’s recent suspension, but has claimed that the £25 million rated stopper wants a move to the Emirates.
Romano told The Arsenal Lounge: “Onana is absolutely open to joining Arsenal, but it’s not a done deal yet.
“They need to wait about the situation of the ban or the suspension, they are waiting for the court to see what’s happening with Onana, how many months he will be out.”
Onana is a quality stopper and his career may have been ruined by what has happened. But it will be interesting to see what happens with the possible deal as he will be bring alot of headlines to the club if he arrives
Reports have claimed Arsenal are interested in doing a swap deal with Atletico Madrid for Kieran Trippier involving Hector Bellerin.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta had an awful season as boss of the Gunners and they won no trophy and finished well outside the top six spots, meaning that the club will need a total revamp in the transfer window.
Arteta knows that Bellerin is considering his future with the club as there has been rumours for months that he is hoping to secure a move away from the club, with PSG the outfit he would like to wear next season.
However, Arsenal have other plans according to reports in the Spanish media as claims have been made that Arsenal are interested in bringing former Tottenham defender Trippier back to the Premier League.
The Three Lions star only joined the Spanish giants last summer for £20million on a three-year deal, won LaLiga in his first season and is said to be happy in Spain, but the defender 30, has recently got new representatives – Base Soccer Agency – and could be tempted by a lucrative switch back to the UK, according to Marca.
And this is where Arsenal come in with Bellerin said to be a favourite of Atletico sporting director Andrea Berta.
Bellerin has been a great servant for the club over the past few years, but he is well past his sell-by-date at the club and they should allow him to leave and bring in fresh meat.
But even though Trippier is quality, he only has a few years at the very top of the game and would not be a good long-term replacement for Bellerin.
Arsenal are plotting a summer swoop for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, reports have claimed in the media
With the transfer window just a few weeks away, there has been alot of speculation in the media about the type of players that Mikel Arteta could look to bring in, with the impressive Neves a player that has been linked with a move to a big club for some time.
The Portuguese international looks likely to be one of the names sacrificed as the club plot a mini overhaul, and according to the Athletic, Wolves are being forced to sell their assets if they want to spend big.
He moved to the Molineux in 2017 with the club in the Championship and helped earn promotion in his first campaign. Neves has since played a key role in Wolves’ time in the Premier League including qualifying for Europe
And according to reports on the TIMES, Arsenal are now interested in trying to secure a transfer deal for the highly-impressive midfielder.
The Gunners see the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for Dani Ceballos, who is set to return to Real Madrid after the expiration of his latest loan deal at Emirates Stadium.
Look, we are massive fans of Neves and firmly believe that he should be at one of the big clubs in the Premier League, so if Arsenal are willing to meet that £35 million asking price in the summer, they could be getting one hell of a player.
He has already proven himself in the Premier League and would give that Arsenal attack a different dimension as they will look to get back into the Champions League next season
But there is alot of interest in the man so the Gunners will surely have to move quickly to get a deal done
