£54M star should be at Arsenal, fans told after winger completes shock summer move!
Darren Bent has expressed his disappointment at Arsenal failing to make a move to sign Pedro Neto, who has just joined Chelsea in a deal that will cost the Blues a massive £54 million
The Portugal international has been at Wolves since 2019 when he signed from Braga, scoring 14 goals in 135 appearances across all competitions and an initial fee of £51M has been agreed, with £3m in bonuses to come if the Portuguese winger meets targets.
The 24-year-old has agreed a salary with the west London club and a quickly passed his medical at the weekend – The 24-year-old winger becomes the club’s tenth summer signing – and it is one that Maresca is very much looking forward to seeing in action.
ARSENAL had been mentioned as a possible destination for Neto, though the ex-Wolves star ultimately opted to head for Stamford Bridge, and Reacting to this deal from an Arsenal perspective, Bent told talkSPORT: “Honestly. I would have loved Arsenal to have got him, Neto, because he is a great player.
“But he is going to a loaded Chelsea squad. On that side already, they have got Sterling, who plays on the left, they have got Mudryk, who plays on the left, and now Neto.”

ARSENAL were linked with the player – they could have brought him to the Emirates for that £54 million and had a very good star on their hands – but they did not – they have gone in a different direction – it is that simple.
CHELSEA have made a good signing, at last, and one that will surely have an impact on their season over the next few months – he is needed more at the Blues than he was at Arsenal that is for sure.
