Bethany England has joined Tottenham from Chelsea Women in what is reported to be a record deal for the Women’s Super League.

Emma Hayes done some wonderful transfer business over the course of the summer last year and signed players that have made an impact on the side – as they sit top of the WSL and qualified for the knock-out stages of the Womens Champions League with ease.

The January window will give the Chelsea Women boss the opportunity to add some more signings that will give the side a boost – and also add a bit more depth to the squad to cover injuries etc.

However – the Blues have now waved goodbye to Beth England after the 28-year-old England striker moved to Spurs after spending seven years at Chelsea, where she scored 74 goals in 163 appearances.

She Tweeted: ‘My next chapter.

I’m so excited to join @SpursWomen 🤍

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes said: “Beth has given tremendous service to the club. She has contributed to all of our success over the past seven years and she leaves a winner and a Chelsea legend.

“We wish her the very best for the next stage of her career.”

Hayes would have surely not wanted to see Beth England depart the club this transfer window – but it looks like it could be a great move as she will walk straight into that Tottenham Womens squad.
