Big mistake!? Arsenal boss Unai Emery told impressive free agent Wilshere now ‘worth £100 million’

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has told Arsenal that Jack Wilshere is now worth around £100 million.

Wilshere finally left Arsenal during the summer transfer window after 18-years with the club, as he simply couldn’t agree a new contract at the Emirates that he, and the club, were happy with.

He was linked with a move to the likes of Manchester United, Juventus and AC Milan, but ultimately decided to stay in London and reinvent his career, which has been plagued by injuries.

And although he had a slow start to life at the Hammers, he has put in some very impressive performances for West Ham over the last few weeks and is starting to look like the man that was once tipped to become the best midfielder in Europe.

And Pellegrini has now admitted that signing Wilshere was a risk but has now saved the club over £100 million.

“He was a high risk,” Pellegrini said on the Sky Sports website.

“We knew before he was not a player who would be available for every game, every week, but was a player of a quality that is not easy to bring to West Ham at a price we could afford.

“Maybe players of the quality of Wilshere at this moment can cost £100m, £90m, £70m. Good creative midfielders are very expensive.
“He wanted to play at West Ham, we took the risk and it has not been a good month for him but we have the second part of the season and I hope he will play most part of the games.”

Is Wilshere worth £100 million?

Wilshere should have been an absolute superstar at Arsenal and one of the best midfielders on the game, but he couldn’t get over his injury issues and ultimately left the club.

He has been impressive so far for the Hammers and many Gunners fans will be happy that he is back playing on a regular basis, but Wilshere is not worth £100 million, not right now.

He is worth around the £40 million mark, which is not bad considering the Hammers got him for nothing.
