Ian Maatsen says he was intent on becoming a regular Chelsea before his loan move to Borussia Dortmund.

Maatsen has thrived since his move to the Bundesliga and capped another impressive performance by scoring a goal in Dortmund’s 4-2 win over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday evening which has secured their place in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

His performances for the German side has meant that they are very keen on making his move a permanent one – but there are also a section on CHELSEA fans that want the club too bring him back to Stamford Bridge.

Now – amid the speculation – Maatsen has admitted that he was intent on becoming a regular at Chelsea – but is not sure if that is what he needs now: ‘No, I was surprised. I think I always believed [I could] play for Chelsea as well, but unfortunately for some reasons it didn’t work out how it should’ve,’ Maatsen told CBS Sports.

‘Now I’m here I’m very grateful for the opportunity. I can say I’m very proud of myself.

‘I kept believing in myself and came here to experience playing my game at the highest level, playing my game. Today I think I showed a very good performance. I’m very happy.’

The move for Maatsen has been amazing for the lad – he has been really impressive for the Bundesliga gianst and fully deserves all the praise he has been getting.

CHELSEA have not made a decision on his future – but if the tight amount of money is offered – a permanent move could happen as he is very happy at Dortmund and they are very happy with him.

STERLING COULD MOVE ON – 

Willem Gallas has claimed that he understands why Chelsea fans want the club to sell Raheem Sterling in the summer.

CHELSEA have had a busier few transfer windows than many people expected, with a number of stars departing the club over the last few windows, and a number of players making their ways to Stamford Bridge.

However – it is no secret that Chelsea missed out on a number of transfer targets that Mauricio Pochettino really wanted to sign, as targets simply did not want to join the Blues vision.

Sterling was supposed to be a game-changing signing for Chelsea when he made the move to London – but he has not been that impressive in a Blues shirt and has failed to impress on a number of occasions.

Now – amid the speculation that Chelsea may sell in the summer – Gallas as opened up and claimed that he could leave the club: ‘Sterling’s statistics speak for themselves, when he was at Manchester City he was scoring many more goals than now he’s at Chelsea,’ Gallas told Gambling Zone.

‘Right now, his performances are not good enough for his second season, so if you look right now his numbers are not great either. If the fans are not happy with him, then maybe that’s fair because when he was in Liverpool or Manchester he had great seasons.

‘Since he’s signed for Chelsea, he has not performed in the same way as he did before and it’s understandable if some fans want to see him leave.’

William Gallas believes Chelsea would benefit from signing two current Manchester United stars this summer.

The CHELSEA FC board are facing the prospect of another costly squad rebuild in the summer after a very disaapointing season under boss Mauricio Pochettino – who has been linked with a sacking.

The Blues have reached the League Cup final this season – but they are way down in the Premier League and may end up finishing the season back outside of European football once again – which is not what a big club like Chelsea should be happening

Gallas told Gambling Zone: ‘Both Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes could be good options for Chelsea. Both are quality players

‘Bruno could definitely be the kind of midfielder who has the quality to play in the number ten role where Chelsea lack strength.

‘Chelsea are a team of young players and Bruno Fernandes has the leadership qualities to get through certain periods. He’d be a good signing if the rumours are true.’

That CHELSEA FC board will be looking at players that they could possibly sign at the end of the season – they need to buy more established stars than they have been in recent windows.

However – we cannot see the Blues making moves for Fernandes or Rashford as they would cost far too much money and would not want to move to Chelsea right now – it is too much of a project for them.

Man United may lose their star players in the summer – but we are sure that it will not be for Chelsea.
