Arsenal transfer plan revealed, Boateng reveals surprise, Saka calls Arsenal target ‘top player’ amid speculation and Partey injury claim
Arsenal transfer plan revealed, Boateng reveals surprise, Saka on Grealish and Injury claim made in Arsenal roundup…
Bukayo Saka has labelled Jack Grealish a top player amid speculation Arsenal are interested in a possible deal.
With the January transfer window just around the corner and Mikel Arteta in need of adding a creative midfielder to his squad, there has been some speculation that Grealish could be on the agenda for the Gunners boss.
Grealish has been brilliant for Villa since the very start of last season, and is the main reason why they stayed in the Premier League, and made a very good start to this years campaign.
But over the last few days, there have been calls for Arsenal to open up the check-book and pay the £60 million it would take to prise the England International away from Villa in the coming transfer windows.
And amidst al the speculation, Saka has opened up and labelled the midfielder ‘a top player.
Grealish offered the Gunners another look at what he is capable of prior to the November international break as he ran the show for Villa in a 3-0 victory for Dean Smith’s side at the Emirates.
He was quoted on GOAL: “He is a top player.
“When I came here [on England duty] before in my first camp he was probably the player who impressed me the most in training.
“Before we played against Villa we did analyse him and we picked him out as one of their main threats and he showed it in the game. He was amazing from start to finish.”
Kevin Campbell has claimed that it is ‘an Arsenal thing’ for players to get injured, with Thomas Partey the latest big name on the injury list.
After waiting months for Arsenal to wrap up a transfer deal, Arsenal fans have been getting very excited about the ability of Partey and just what he has managed to bring to this Gunners midfield.
But the Ghana international has been forced to miss out on his country’s fixtures after failing to make it through the 90 minutes against Aston Villa the weekend before the break, While the Ghana FA confirmed he would miss the fixtures due to a minor sprain to his ankle.
Now former Arsenal striker Campbell claimed that is was ‘an Arsenal thing’ to get injured, claiming injuries and being an Arsenal player as going hand-in-hand: “These things happen in football, sadly,” he told the FootballInsider.
“I am sure Thomas Partey would have been shocked by the performance against Aston Villa.
“The frustrating thing is that this guy was virtually ever-present at Atletico. He rarely suffered injury but the Premier League is a different kettle of fish and this is something Arsenal have to deal with.
“It’s an Arsenal thing – you have just signed a top player, he plays well and he gets injured.”
David Ornstein has revealed that Arsenal has already set about their transfer plans for next summer, and Houssem Aouar is still on the shopping list
The transfer window has basically just closed and Arsenal fans were left happy about the transfer business that Mikel Arteta managed to do, with the signings of Gabriel and Thomas Partey two deals that have got the club excited.
And While they focus on ending this season back inside the top four for the first time since 2017 and maybe adding some silverware to the cabinet, the Gunners have already started planning for their attack on the next summer transfer window, according to Ornstein.
He also claims he expects them to maintain their interest in Houssem Aouar, he said: “I’m not sure about an attacking midfielder coming into Arsenal in January.
“What I am hearing is that Arsenal are already well ahead in their planning for the window of summer 2021 & talks are taking place about potential recruits.
“The sense I get is that they would be looking, understandably, to bring in a creative attacking midfielder in that sort of No 10 role but perhaps who could operate towards the right as well because they’re fairly well stocked on the left.
“They pursued the signing in the summer of Houssem Aouar of Lyon, so I don’t imagine that interest would necessarily go away.
“The other position I’ve heard a little bit about is the right-sided central defender.
“If David Luiz & others were to go, then there could be a bit of a shortage there.”
Arsenal-linked Jerome Boateng has revealed why he has been surprised over the past few weeks.
During the summer transfer window, Mikel Arteta was seeking to add an experienced defender to that Chelsea back-line as he needed to add some leadership and quality ahead of the new season, and he was heavily linked with a move for Boateng.
Despite being a regular fixture in the squad over the past few years, there was widespread speculation that Boateng was done at Bayern, and that the German were ready to cash in on the defender in order to freshen up this ageing squad.
However, a despite all the rumours and despite all that speculation, Arsenal failed to get a transfer deal done for Boateng and in the end, they opted to bring the brilliant Gabriel to the club, and he has proven to be a massive hit with the fans.
But there has been some more reports that Arsenal may opt to make a move to Boateng in the upcoming transfer window to add even more quality to that back-line, especially after they found reports claiming that Bayern were ready to cash in.
Boateng, though, has been taken aback by these claims: “Nobody approached me, nobody spoke to me, I didn’t know anything about it, I was surprised,” he told Suddeutsche Zeitung when asked to react to the news.
Boateng has been in the game long enough now to realise that there will always be alot of interest in the media about his future, but we are still shocked to see that Arsenal are still seemingly interested.
We expected that the next transfer signing would be a more long-term signing that could play alongside Gabriel, not one that would only be at the club for the next few seasons.
