Boehly reveals why Chelsea have signed much-hyped star in stunning move
Chelsea chairman Ted Boehly has revealed just why Chelsea made the decision to sign Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk
Mudryk is a player that has been on the agenda for Arsenal all season as they have kept a very close eye on his performances for Shakhtar – but despite all the rumours – they struggled to agree a deal.
The Gunners had two offers knocked back before it seemed like they had agreed a £62 million move for the lad – with Director Edu flying out to complete the signing of the talented winger.
However – at the very last minute – Chelsea swooped in and made a record-breaking offer to Shakhtar Donetsk that they could not refuse – a fee in the region of £82 million has been agreed and now Mudryk will become a Blues.
He has agreed a massive eight-and-a-half-year contract with Chelsea that could earn him over £100 million – and now Boehly has revealed just why he was signed by the Blues.
Todd Boehly said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Mykhailo to Chelsea. He’s a hugely exciting talent who we believe will be a terrific addition to our squad both now and in the years to come. He will add further depth to our attack and we know he’ll get a very warm welcome to London.’

Mudryk is a very talented lad and we will be interested to see just how he copes in the Premier League – it is a massive step up for the lad.
But all we now is that Chelsea fans will be loving this and Arsenal fans will be hoping is a massive flop.
It is alot to pay for a lad that has done nothing in the game and only impressed in the Ukrainian Leagues
