Rio Ferdinand has suggested Todd Boehly has talked about forcing goalkeeper Edouard Mendy out of Chelsea
Mendy moved to Chelsea just a few seasons ago in a switch that many could not believe happened – as he was a massive gamble for the club
However – since his move to the Premier League giants – he has developed into one of the very best goalkeepers in the world and a man that the club has been able to rely on pretty much every week
But The former Nice star’s form has dipped at the start of this season – and has come under fire from the media for a number of poor performances and costly errors that have cost the Blues vital points

Now – former Man United star Ferdinand has opened up and claimed that Boehly has discussed getting rid of Mendy – he told his Youtube channel: “There are a lot of wild opinions being said behind the scenes with formations and with certain individual players that the new ownership want out of the team.
“I think [Edouard] Mendy would have been one of them in terms of kicking the ball and his distribution and talking about tactical things.
“I don’t know if an owner should even be talking about stuff like that, the manager is there to deal with that.”

Mendy has turned down an opening offer said to be inferior to the £190,000-a-week salary current No.2 and former club-record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga earns.
But even though he wants more money – there are not too many stoppers out there that are better than the goalkeeper and Chelsea would have to pay some serious money to get the players that are
